Roy Hibbert

Should Denver make a run at Hibbert?
Coach Shaw is familiar with him and would help with our interior defense.
Maybe Chandler, Mozgov & Foye.
Thoughts?

Only if McGee is involved and even then, I'd be hesitant to include much else. Definitely not for the package in your post.

I'd do that deal but idk if it works financially....but a separate deal moving Mcgee would be required.

I'd do Foye and McGee , if you trade Mozzie in the package you'd have $26M per year just at the center position.

the real question is, is hibbert really that much better than mcgee? im not sure. both bring shot blocking to the team, neither are offensive options for the most part. why give up assets. I guess you could make the argument hibbert can play more minutes than mcgee.

You have a much, much higher opinion of McGee than I do. If we could let him walk for nothing right now and free up the cap space I'd be absolutely thrilled.

After seeing Hibbert in the playoffs I wouldnt want him especially in the western conference.
On another note,I think Indiana would have loved to have Timofey Mozgov during the playoffs this year as opposed to Roy Hibbert. He looks a lot more comfortable in the post, always runs the floor hard and doesnt dial down the effort when he doesnt see the ball for a while. Mozgov would also provide similar defense.
For about the 1/3 of the price of Hibberts contract Mozgov if he remains the starter will be a better player than Roy Hibbert next season.

If the refs let McGee do verticality watch out league McGee has a higher reach and vertical so he could cause havoc on defense

Personally i am not a fan of Hibbert, he is slow footed, and is only effective in the right situations. Personally I am more interested in seeing what Mozgov and McGee will do next year.

McGee has potential based on his physical tools. We all know that's not his issue, and there's no reason to believe his motor and basketball IQ are going to be any different this year from every other year he's been in the league.
I would rather have Hibbert over McGee, and I'm not a Hibbert fan either.
Not interested in a trade that leaves us with both guys.

doesnt hibbert have one of the worst contracts in the league and just came off an absolutely horrible playoffs?
mcgee at least only has 2 years left on a smaller contract.

Hibbert can opt out after next year and is a more proven commodity.

no way he will opt out of that contract though.
im still weary of trying to trade for him.

Hibbert is the 5th highest paid center in a league that overpays for big men. He is still a quality big who commands a presence in the post. He could easily opt out and get a longer deal worth 14-15m annually when he'll only be 27 years old and entering his prime. Hibbert is also durable. He has averaged 76 games played since entering the league. I'm not saying he is Shaq but he would be a defensive upgrade for the Nuggets.

Indiana
In: McGee, WC, Foye
Out: Hibbert, Copeland
Line-Up
PG: Hill/Watson
SG: Stuckey/Foye
SF: Chandler/Miles
PF: West/Scola
C: McGee/Mahinmi
Denver
In: Hibbert, Copeland
Out: McGee, WC, Foye
Line-Up
PG: Lawson/Robinson
SG: Afflalo/Harris
SF: Gallo/Copeland
PF: Faried/Hickson
C: HIbbert/Mozgov
HIbbert is still an upgrade at Center considering his defensive skills next to Faried. Losing WC hurts but getting rid of Foye to allow Harris to get valuable minutes is a plus.

Too much for a center that played really bad last seasson.
