Eric Meyer is wondering why the Nuggets have been resting some of their stars, and where these decisions are coming from.

Enough with the spam

What do you think? Should they be tanking?

We were out of the playoff race in January. At that point, keeping shaw and losing for the season made sense. Then front office claims they are going to make a splash at trade deadline and proceed to let the other 29 teams know our whole roster is tradeable. Deadline passes, and the moves were miniscule. The losing continues, which was leading to a higher draft pick, and we fire the coach that was operating the tank. We then hire a coach who wants to win the rest of the games left in the season if it was possible. After 2 weeks of this coach, the team has been winning games a lot more frequently than when shaw was the coach. The front office then realizes that instead of a possible top 6 pick, they're probably going to get a 7-12 pick. Upon this realization, the front office then proceeds to withhold players from games for what they call "rest days". (Keep in mind that we aren't making the playoffs, so resting players doesn't serve the same purpose as when golden rested their players)

All of the above tells me that the front office has no idea what their currently doing, and have no clue what to do going forward. It's kinda hilarious because our franchise started to rise after we had a top 3 pick(melo) and now we don't value top 5 Draft picks.

To answer your question, the nuggets are resting players because they don't know any better. Joel Embiid could have been able to play in February but their gm knows that Embiid playing will lead to wins that don't culminate into anything when the season ends.
