Haha. Well done, and still one of the lamest jokes in recorded history. You're asking people do to what? Mock a certain number of picks, just give who you think the Nuggets walk away with, etc.?

"with the 7th pick in the 2015 NBA draft, the Denver Nuggets select SG Mario Herzonja" !!!!

And the crowd goes WILDDDDD !!!!

I clarified, what the Nuggets walk away with...Yes it's a VERY lame joke I can't believe he still uses almost every interview.

Best part is the reaction of the player, especially when they don't get what he's talking about. Birdman had the best I've seen - absolutely stone-faced, then "dinner is free on the plane, bro".

Unlikely, dream scenario: trade Lawson for another pick, end with Mudiay and Hezonja.

More realistic best case: Mudiay and/or Hezonja slips to #7. Take either of them very happily.

What do I think will happen? Draft Winslow at 7, trade for another pick from 10-16, target a PG like Payne or Jones.

Dream Scenario:
Trade Faried+#7 to Knicks for #4/filler (Calderon?). W/#4 Nuggets take D'Angello Russell.
Trade Ty Lawson for #6 SAC+ fillers. Draft Mudiay (two 6"5 pg lineup would be pretty cool w/Mudiay/Russell) or Winslow,Hezonja.

What I think will happen is:

Nuggets draft Justice Winslow at #7

Dream: Russell (In a trade for Lawson, Chandler and a future 1st) and Hezonja @7

Real Life: Winslow @ 7 (Mario already off the board) Ty and or Chandler moved for a late lotto that nets a PG

I think the Nuggets walk away with Mudiay, Winslow (I prefer Hezonja but with the news on WCS having ankle issues I am not seeing him get past 5th).

I was just thinking our best option would be to hold off rebuilding one more year because next year we can swap picks with the Knicks so if we get anywhere near the playoff or even in the playoffs we could still be looking at a top 5 pick which is straight knick murder because they'd have to give away the pick we don't want to Toronto.

Nuggets will draft Justise Winslow. He will become a fan favorite very quickly.

So, are we ok if we just get one of Mudiay/Herzonja/Winslow ?

Mudiay's shooting really scares me. And with Malone talking about how he wants guys that can make open jumpers, I dont know if he would like a PG that cant shoot at all

I would set the odds at 90% one of those three is a Nugget by Friday morning. All three make a lot of sense.

Of the three, I'd say odds are strongest it's Winslow, although I'd prefer the other two. Part of the reason I don't want to trade down - it's pretty hard to complain about ending up with any of the three. All will help.

Question is how big a splash can we make tomorrow. Tomorrow could easily be a foundation type day for the franchise on the level of the Melo pick, AI trade, or Chauncey trade. Hopefully the road map is clear after tomorrow. My opinion - if Lawson is still on the team on Friday, we're all-in on being a part of a Cousins trade, whether getting him or facilitating.

I am NOT on board with a DMC-to-DEN trade, don't want the attitude along with ransoming the roster. Also, I like what I see in Nurkic and want to see what we have there. I also think we will have a better foundational rebuild if we build thru the draft and use Faried/Lawson/Chandler to acquire draft picks, even though the draft is a bit of a crap shoot. Still think a Lawson for 6th is in the realm of possibilities

I am going to change my prediction, I am going to guess the Nuggets come away with picks 6,7, 14, and draft Mudiay, Hezonja, and Bobby Portis.

With the Lamb trade for a non guaranteed contract Barnes and reports that Barnes is going elsewhere, and the nuggets have been working out mid 1st rounders, I am guessing that may be the Chandler deal.

Heard Portis is a legit 6'10 yet his doctors say he is still growing, could become a legit 7'1".

Very likely laughably wrong, but here's how I see it shaking out. If I'm Denver, I'm doing what I can to get my hands on Mudiay or Hezonja.

MIN: Towns - done
LAL: Okafor - think the Russell talk was smoke.
PHI: Russell - seems obvious if he's there. Hinkie could do anything.
NYK: Mudiay - there may be a trade here, but he's clearly the best talent on the board. Think we end where we started with this pick.
ORL: Porzingis - think he's their guy
SAC: Hezonja - sounds like he's the target
DEN: Winslow - they'll take whoever is left of Mudiay/Hezonja/Winslow
DET: S. Johnson - BPA
CHA: Kaminsky - seems like a lock after the Zeller trade
MIA: Booker - shooting always nice around guys like Wade/Bosh

Nuggets trade into the teens and take one of the point guards. Hopefully it's Payne and not a Tyus Jones, if that's the case.

Return to Denver Nuggets
