Nuggets waiving Kostas Papanickolau per WT, seems a little too much money to keep him around. Surprised they didn't keep him through TC as his contract didn't become guaranteed until Oct 4, perhaps they didn't want him around for media day. Does this mean Erick Johnson and Nick Johnson have made the team ??

I don't think it means any of the nonguaranteed deals have made the team at this point, but Papa was not really a need with Gallo and Chandler back as well as Barton available to play SF and our stacked PFs with Joffrey, Faried, Hickson, and Jokic and Nurkic able to play together occasionally. Obviously they could not find a deal where they felt they were walking with an asset.

Hard to think they couldn't even get a conditional 2nd for him, but $4.8M isn't anything to sneeze at, especially knowing there was a good shot at him being waived. Only non-guaranteed (of any consequence) is Erick Green, who seems to be in direct competition with Johnson. Also, this is barring any unforeseen trades..

I am sure they could get a 2nd for him, the problem is the contract they would have had to take back to get that pick, as not many teams have cap space nor a TPE available to take back that kind of money this time of year.
