No, not LBJ, King Joffrey....he's looked great so far, I can easily see him as our starting C until Nurkic is FULLY ready. Has range out to 3-pt area, good rebounder and has been a double-double guys this preseason.

So what's his long-term role, long-term potential ?

I just looked up 'trolling' and found this:

Lauvergne has certainly been a pleasant surprise through 2 games. Maybe he'll become more than the tall Ryan Bowen I was projecting him to become. By all accounts i've seen, he's an intense worker with a passion for getting better. But he did just turn 24, so you're likely looking at a lower ceiling than, say Jokic or Nurkic.

Dallas is soo weak,JL is continuing to improve, playing with the national team helped him just being around some of the guys that play for that team got him pumped up.You never know with Nurkic(Cousins v2) it's good to have Joff around!
Jokic looks great, when he putts weight he will be very interesting.

His play has been impressive throughout summer league and the preseason thus far.I honestly believe that at least one of these Euro players (Nurkic,Joffrey,Jokic) are going to have a strong impact in the NBA when their career is over. Joffrey was least likely imo at the end of the year, but damn this guy is showing some grit.

I originally thought we would be lucky if he came into town and was a good 3rd big type player, but now I am wondering if he is not going to develop into a very good 4th or 5th starter. the type that does whatever the team needs, whether it is hustling on defense, spreading the floor a little, diving on the ground for the loose ball, or just finishing on plays. If he continues to play this way then I would be okay with them trading Faried and giving the starting job to Joffrey next to Nurkic.

His effecientcy in these 2 games and EuroBasket have been what has impressed me the most about him thus far. He stays within his game and doesn't seem to try things he can't do, although for as big as he is, there isn't a whole lot, especially offensively that he can't do at least pretty well. He even handles the ball well when driving, which you don't often find out of a guy his size. I could deal with him starting over Faried if Faried doesn't turn things around.

It does look like Tim Connelly has a pretty good grasp on European players, I'm liking all 3 of the bigs that he has drafted.

Showing range out to the 3-pt line will open things up for Nurkic and Mudiay on the inside, and considering he was the 55th pick in his draft, what a STEAL !

Imagine the lanes we can make for Mudiay by playing Joffrey at the five, some combination of Gallo Chandler and Jokic at the 3 and 4, and then Foye or Harris at the 2.

I agree it was a steal for where he was picked, but it still pisses me off that they traded Koufos for Arthur and that pick when they could have bought that pick for a few hundred thousand.

Well, Joffery is going to miss his 10th game of the season, his back problems must be more serious than expected. Does he slide back to 3rd string C when Nurkic gets back or will he backup Faried ??? Can't say I'm happy he's missing so many games, especially when we need him, but it has given Jokic time to show what he can do (although I want to see more of that ).

I have always pictured Joffrey splitting minutes with Faried, with Nurkic and Jokic splitting most of the minutes at Center, with Joffrey occasionally going to center for a few minutes when the Nuggets go small.

Or, we could play:
C-Nurkic, Lauvergne
PF-Faried, Jokic

Or even better:
C-Lavuergne, Nurkic
PF-Faried,Jokic

That way we have one good shooter in every combination, Lauvergne(can shoot)-Faried, Nurkic-Jokic(can shoot)..

With the defense that Nurkic brought last year, he needs to be starting, he is by far our best defensive big.
