Nuggets Young Players - Afraid?

It seems like the Nuggets' young players are almost afraid to shoot sometimes. Over passing until the clock is near zero. Tonight Nurkic had an open dunk but he threw the ball outside for three or four more passes before a missed three. That's just one example.
Sometimes you can watch the Nuggets setting up a play and see a man run through the lane wide-open but they don't throw him the ball because their setting up their play (and the cutter isn't looking for the ball).
Or is that just my mis-perception?

Mudiay, Nurkic, Harris shoot quite a lot.
Jokic is the only one where I think he is sometimes too passive and shouldn't be passing out shots when he has position in the post and a size advantage.
On the other hand, I think Darrell Arthur shouldn't be taking any shots that aren't open midrange/3 jumpshots. He's been posting up lately, and I don't think it's been successful.

Mudiay just took and MADE (thank God) a game winning 3-pt shot over the 76ers tonight.

If anything, I'd say Mudiay maybe has too much confidence in his shot. Harris has consistently grown more and more confident all season, and Nurkic seems to put it up every time he gets the ball in or near the paint. Jokic I could see the argument, but he's such a skilled passer, I'm not worried about it at all.

No such thing. I like to see mudiay fire away. Thing is, in the next two years he is going to have to improve his percentages by a ton. But if he is able to do that, we need him to be a confident player!

With Mudiay, I always just want to see the right shot being taken. He's often hesitant, and ends up taking a more contested shot or passes in a way that doesn't further our chances of scoring instead of taking the right shot.
His percentages aren't good, but I can live with that if he's making the right play. The shot will come with work.

Are the young players overly obsessive about running the plays and missing opportunities that pop up during the setting up of the plays?
