Traditionally, NBA teams were led by their point guard.
In the modern era, NBA teams tend to be led by their "best" player.
Neither of those are "hard & fast" rules - but seem to be generally true.

Leader might be defined as they guy who controls the ball when the game is on the line or the guy who inspires the other players in the lockerroom or on the court - especially when things aren't going well. Leader might include they guy who speaks out on behalf of his teammates. There can be so much involved in that concept and not everyone has all of those traits (mostly).

Which players on the Nuggets are "leaders".

The "Leader" would probably be Gallo since he doubles as a vet and primary scoring option, but in terms of lockerroom control and who speaks for whom I can only speculate.

Gallinari, Miller and Nelson

I'd throw Chandler's name in the conversation, but his personality is just to mellow. Same goes for almost every young prospect of ours. Harris and Mudiay are very mellow guys, Jokic is a rather quiet guy. Just Nurkic is a very outgoing personality, Barton could also be considered as someone, who likes to share his thoughts and is not afraid to raise grievances.

Tomecak is exactly right, Miller and Nelson were brought in not only to provide leadership, but to set and show the right example to our young guys. Great call Tomecak !!!

Gallo is the obvious answer here. Miller, Nelson, and Arthur all do their part too. Chandler strikes me as a lead by example type of guy.

On a side note, I heard a radio interview with Mike Miller the other day that implied he wasn't ready to retire yet. Anyone think he'll be back next year? The FO and Malone clearly like him, but it's kind of hard to see his value from our perspective because that value doesn't come on the floor during the game. If there's space on the roster after the draft, I wouldn't be totally against bringing him back.

Pretty much already figured it about like this. Gallinari said he doesn't want to be the team leader, but to a degree, he is. Miller seems to be a great bench/lockerroom leader. Nelson, same as Miller.

Looking around the league, it seems there are quite a few teams that don't have that definitive leader. How important do you think it is to have a definitive team leader?

Gallo is the current leader although we need more leadership to get back into the playoffs. Of course a leader is important, if Houston had one we'd have a 3rd first rounder.

Harden scores but doesn't lead. Yeah, not sure they have any leader.
