Millsap for Faried, Harris, Radicevic?

Post#1 » by NuggetsWY » Wed Jul 27, 2016 6:17 pm

http://www.sportsrageous.com/nba/nba-rumors-denver-nuggets-trade-kenneth-faried-gary-harris-paul-millsap/37515/

This article proposes Denver trade Faried, Harris, rights to Radicevic -for- Millsap.
It would eat into the Nuggets salary cap but just to bring them up to the salary cap floor, roughly speaking.
Millsap's contract runs two years with a player option for the second year.

Is he a one year rental? He'd be a good one and a decent fit for the Nuggets I think.
Is that too much to pay? Faried has value but Harris is the big chip with a future.

Like Milsap's talent, but at 32yrs old by the time the 2017 All Star game, I can't see a long-term future here OR him resigning here so would that be worth Gary Harris and Radecivic ? Not in my book, looks like a 1yr rental to me. As for the rumor validity, seems like someone who just wants to fill the down time until training camp. JMHO

Yeah, sorta thought so, but if we could get him for a couple of years, ... it might have been nice. Would have made us better for sure - in the short term. I'm thinking a backcourt of Mudiay-Murray-Harris-Barton-Beasley-Radicevic; well, 4 out of 6 ought to make a pretty nice back court. I'd like to see what shakes out.

Millsap is opting out to get one last big deal. Don't think this is the guy for the Nuggets unfortunately. The Power Forward position has gotten really weak these last few seasons (still a lot of young guys figuring things out).

I'd trade Faried and Barton for Millsap but not Harris. I also wouldn't be against pursuing Millsap in free agency next summer. Either way, I highly doubt that's a credible source and I strongly disagree with them saying Faried is a better fit next to Dwight than Millsap is.

I'm sorta with RRFB on this one. Unless Millsap gave a guarantee that he would sign, I'd consider Faried & Barton but that's still a high price for one year, so I don't know.

As for Faried being a better fit next to Howard, with no offense the the Manimal (he has his value), he is not at the same level as Millsap in anything except maybe rebounding.

I'd be on board with Faried+Barton if Milsap's 2nd year option was exercised as part of the trade.

I would not do the trade.

I know the rumor is that the Nuggets tried to trade for Millsap but I have never been sold on the guy, and at 31 and being an undersized PF I just do not see the long term fit for his here.

Nah. Not worth a 1-year rental. I really don't see him extending his contract with us.

If you could trade Faried and Barton for Millsap you would have to think about it. Millsap would immediately upgrade the PF position and Barton will likely not get as many minutes with Gallo back anyway. Harris is on a rookie deal you could not give up.
Canned in Denver.

I try and find him but he seems almost invisible. I think he's playing backup, maybe still trying to work his way back into playing shape. I just don't find much.
