February - Proving Time?

The Nuggets have 13 games in February.
7 home games - only the Warriors should be considered a "probable loss"
6 road games - Spurs, Hawks, Cavs should be considered "probable losses"
That means 9 games should be wins? Probably.
Will it happen like that? Of course not. The Nuggets know how to win in an upset and they know how to give away a game.
However, if we can win 9 games, that would give the Nuggets a 30-29 record and that would be respectable beyond most people's predictions for the Nuggets.
What's your prediction for February?
Grizzlies
Bucks
@Spurs
Wolves (not Mavs - corrected thanks to Powder Blue)
@Hawks
@Knicks
@Cavs
Warriors
Timberwolves
@Kings
Nets
Grizzlies
@Chicago

8-5, could swap out an easy win for a harder one. I'm cautiously optimistic..

I think we win against Hawks, and MEM also to start it...

No Jokic against Memphis at home will be a difficult, but possible win.
Winning at Atlanta will be tough even at full strength, unless Atlanta has a couple of injured players.
I don't think we match-up very well against them, especially when we are on defense. Then again, we don't play anyone well on defense. <sigh>
If Malone doesn't play Nurkic, Howard will dominate the boards IMO.
Millsap & Sefolosha should slow down our forwards' scoring.
Schroder especially will be a pest against our PGs.
It'll be a tough game to win and to win it will take a great scoring game IMO.

That Mem game on the first is also a B2B. If they beat LA tues and go 8-5 in Feb they'd be .500 come march. I'd imagine that's still the 8th seed.

I'll be happy with a 7-6 record without any more injury. March will be the month of the truth.
If we can reach 41-41 (8 win in march and 5 in april) we probably be the 8th seed in WC.

The Nuggets are entering this stretch of games with some nagging injuries that could be an issue. At full strength, they might be ready for a serious run. Malone has recently said that there will be no trades but I am not sure if that isn't just posturing. The FO has made it clear that the goal is to make the playoffs this season and it appears that the contenders for the last spot in the Western Conference are all struggling. Could be a very doable goal!
I still maintain that Mudiay remains a key. I don't know if he will finally make that jump but he has all the talent in the world. Consistency is a problem particularly with his shot. I don't know if he remains injured and to what effect that has been through out this season but I hope that it isn't a factor going forward. This next month could tell us how close or even if he is ready for a breakout. Paired with Jokic he could be special.
The veterans can carry this club like they just did in Phoenix but to really reach the next level, they need a healthy Jokic and a healthy and consistently good Mudiay.

5-2 at home and 3-3 on the road will start to get fans buying tickets.

Well, I know that's not me he's talking about Sky. I haven't been optimistic about this team since the middle of last year, although I've tried a few times. Besides, I wear slippers around the house so my feet don't get too cold.

Thanks for posting that, I also found it interesting.
My forecast for the year was by month
Oct 1-2
Nov 5-10
Dec 8-7
Jan 6-8
Feb 8-5
Mar 7-8
Apr 4-3
So far I've been rather close, one game off through Jan. One game in the good direction. But Feb isn't looking too good.
Did you notice that March has 9 home & 6 away. That'll be nice.
But April has 2 home & 5 away. <sigh>

NBA schedulers have never really been "equitable" to the Nuggets.

I'd rather have it this way. You don't want a team thinking they are better than others and going into games down the stretch thinking they will win. In the past, the Suns will start out well sometimes and fans will get all excited about possibly making the playoffs only to have a brutal schedule down the stretch. I'd prefer the reverse.
