Hernangomez's Stats - Stats aren't everything - I like the "eye-test" more, but here you go:

.... October . November . December . January . February
Min . 1.0 ....... 13.1 ......... 8.4 ........ 10.5 ...... 20.1
FGs . 0-0 ....... 46% .......... 38% ........ 56% ....... 43%
3pt .. 0-0 ...... 44% .......... 33% ........ 43% ....... 44%
FTs .. 0-0 ...... 58% .......... 80% ........ 83% ...... 100%

Not a very good start but not many minutes.
January stats look nice and February too.

Which modern player would be a good role model for Hernangomez? I'm thinking someone that can move fairly well but isn't extremely quick or athletic; someone that can shoot outside and drive (finishing with either hand). Someone who plays smart position defense and smart team defense. Best player I can think of is Gordon Hayward. What do you think?

Juancho interview with him talking about his 1st season in Denver, says he will be here for at least a couple of games in the summer league.
When you make it to Denver and you get to practice with Nikola Jokic, is it obvious to you that he’s going to be the franchise player or did his sophomore season catch you by surprise?

JH: From Day 1, I was in shock with Nikola Jokic. Honestly, he’s the biggest talent I’ve seen in my life. When he improves physically and gets more ready for a full NBA season, he’s going to be so, so good. He’s our franchise player. He can give you 20 points and 20 rebounds, he will shoot threes, he can give you 12-15 assists. When the ball goes through him and he has a good day, our team has very good chances of winning. We really need him for next year.

How do you like Juancho so far? As a fellow spaniard, he's a player I follow and I really like his game.

Thanks for posting here - we have multiple threads that show a lot of folk loving on Hernangomez. Lots of us would like to add him to the no-trade list, some would like to add him to the no-trade-unless-it's-a-super-offer list. There aren't too many that don't like him.

It's interesting that both Hernangomez brothers are doing very well in the NBA even if they play in different positions.
Spain has this strange power to drop basketball brothers!

With what little time he got he played pretty well and earned a handful of minutes in the rotation despite playing behind Gallo and Chandler, so I would say he did very well last year. I think we all like him, but wish we had seen more.

Hernangomez is getting plenty of Denver press over his Euro-play. Some nice offense and a huge block in the last game. Playing on a top team with lots of NBA players, he's still showing up pretty nice.

This is just what I thought we'd get for Juancho, let's just hope he stays injury-free. Hard for me to see the Nuggets advising him against this, it's great experience just a bit less control than their Summer League teams.

It will be interesting to see how Juancho handles the backup SF role, I wondering if we could see him stepping in as a starter there in the future. Most have him eventually ending up in the PF role, which I can see him and Lyles manning for the next decade but if he can handle the SF position too I think that he could be more beneficial for us in a combo role goinf forward.

He is a fierce competitor and more passionate to improve than his brother (Willy said so in his recent post), so, we can expect a good work attic from him which results in improvement every year. A great 3-pt shooter with nice stroke, and put in a lot effort on rebounds and defends, he improved his physical body too this summer. I think he knows that he has a big chance replacing WChandler this coming season with his age and ability to space the floor better than WC. So he put in effort to fight for the SF spot. He is not far away from the PF spot too with Millsap age. He is in a nice position to squeeze in both if he needs to.

He is in a position of PF/SF, hard to pinpoint which position suits him best, if I have to choose one, it will probably be PF. SF is still too fast for him (even though his athleticism is high too)

He should be capable of playing either forward position on offense. The question is whether he can guard opposing wing players at all. My guess is the quickness of the elite starting SF will be too much for him. He might do OK against backups, but I can't see him being successful as a starter at SF. Hopefully he can handle the role Chandler had last season, backing up both forward spots.
