Trade Deadline - Overreaction

I really want to find the bright side in the trades we made, but it just looks like the FO is completely clueless. We traded away Nurkic for a backup C we are gonna have to pay way to much to keep, and we gave away a 1st round pick with him as well.
We then give away a 2nd round pick for another C who does nothing for us. I am just very lost and would love to hear others opinions for why we traded a pick for Hibbert?
I know last night was just one game, but Faried is just such a blackhole on offense, cant defend anyone, and we kept him over Nurkic.
Final rant, the argument that Nurkic was “a cancer to the team” is unacceptable. You’re job as an organization is to make sure that the relationship with a player doesn’t get to that point and that they are as happy as possible. If a relationship gets to that point, it’s a reflection of a poor organization.
I just want the Nugz to be good so badly, and all i see are poop moves after poop moves. I am sure others will disagree and excited to here thoughts.

I don't mind the Plumlee trade. I actually think it was an addition by subtraction and in the small sample size I like Plumlee's offense. The Hibbert trade was strictly to get us closer to the cap floor. MIL will not get that 2nd round pick due to protections. Hibbert at one point was an All Star and could help mentor Jokic.
It was what didn't happen that irked me. One of Chandler/Gallo needed to go along w/ Faried because there are too many "good" players on this team.
Half the reason I wanted the Paul George trade to happen was clear this glut of players we have and finally start assigning roles.

I am still pissed and the wrong one to ask about the Nurkic deal, if it was really that bad and had been building since last season and the plan was always to take Malone's side than Nurkic should have been gone months ago, and the return would have been much better. The worst part of that deal was when the news hit that the Nuggets maxed out on the cash they could receive in trade it explained why the trade sucked so bad, the Kroenkes have never hid the fact that they run their franchises as businesses and with the lack of ticket sales and tv viewership they had to improve the bottom line, even if it hurts the future of the franchise.
The 2nd round pick for Hibbert is basically a pick that will never be transferred and bringing in Hibbert was also about money. They get to count his full salary to get to the salary floor, but only have to pay him the remainder of his salary which saves them about 65% of his contract. So it saves them about $3 million that should have been divided by the players on the roster.
During the Melo years the Nuggets often made moves and traded picks to save money, it always pissed me off and still does. The last few years making moves to save money did not bother me as it really was not costing much talent and we had to find enough young guys to build with. Now we have Jokic to build around, we have talented young guys like Murray and Hernangomez who both look like they can be very good building blocks as well. Yet they are still making moves to save money, and wasting assets to do it.
I understand that Nurkic and Malone never clicked, it was bad enough that Arturus K and Malone went to Bosnia to try to settle the issues between Malone and Nurkic last summer. Even early in the season it was obvious that they were not going to work out, and at that point Nurkic should have been traded for the best prospects and picks they could get at that time, not for cash and a backup center with little room to grow. Gallo at least should have been traded at the deadline to get future assets as it is pretty obvious that he is not a long term fit with Jokic, but instead they were more worried about putting together a deal to save money. It is damn hard to be a fan of a team with owners who are more worried about the bottom line than they are getting things in place to build a contender.

Let's see - what's the best part of this? That our front office backs the coach (unlike Sacramento has been doing for years)? <sigh>
That's about the only thing I see that's a positive here because I'm positive that I do not like our coach, nor his approach towards dealing with players. I'm also positive that I don't like the way our front office has built a team full of players that are content to lose without hustling; a team that isn't hungry to win.

Thx for this, really appreciate it. Makes a ton more sense now why they made the trade. Doesn't change my opinion on it much haha but really good info
