Nuggets' 3pt Shooting
Posted: Tue Mar 7, 2017 1:19 pm
In the old days, it was often said that a 3pt shooter was only good if they shot over 33% on 3s. That was based on the mathematics of scoring FTs vs. 2pt vs. 3pt. These days, 3pt shooting is looked at very differently. That's partly because 3pt shooting "loosens" the defense and partly because shooters are so much better today. Although the best in the old days were as good as most of the good 3pt shooters these days, Overall, 3pt shooting is much better.
Add to that, another saying that "Jump shooters can shoot you out of a game as fast as they can shoot you into the game" meaning they run hot and cold.
What were your expectations of the Nuggets' roster coming into this season and what do you consider acceptable as a team and as individuals?
As a team the Nuggets are shooting 37%.
Here's the list of players that have made 3pt shots:

.370 Jokic
.363 Barton
