Plumlee can play 12 mpg with Jokic because Jokic is becoming a good 3pt shooter. And he's a top notch backup center when Jokic sits. Hernangomez has an extremely bright future and can pair with either big as well. If you consider there are 96 minutes a game at pf/c that creates 32 mpg for each of those 3. Remember, faried is not in their long term plans and will be shopped again.
Gotta disagree - I don't think they work well together. Plumlee is a good passer but defenders sag off from him because he has no range. Jokic is best in the high post and Plumlee is then pushed to the baseline, leaving his defender better able to provide help defense. IMO Plumlee is a good backup for Jokic, but I don't like them together any more than Nurkic-Jokic --- which might have been better if Malone had run the offense then, that he ended up with.
Defensively plumlee is athletic and Jokic is a positional defender. They aren't going to be great defensively together, but they only need to be adequate. The nuggets will be much better defensively once they replace the nelson/mudiay disastrous defensive PG combo. Also Murray was really bad defensively this year but should improve some with experience. Additionally, Harris struggled when he returned from that serious groin injury. He will be much better defensively next year.
Still not convinced Harris' struggles weren't the defensive scheme and, as Rebel pointed out, Harris carried a bigger offensive load. [/quote]
The nuggets perimeter defense issues GREATLY exaggerate Jokic supposed struggles as a defender. He will be solid once the right pieces are around him. And considering the nuggets should consistently be the #1 Or #2 offense in the league during his prime , their defense just needs to be in the top half of the league to contend.
Agreed
Gallinari is the real test. This is one of those hard decisions because it's best for the team long term if they let him walk. He's injury prone, expensive, and limited defensively.
But the team is much worse in the short term with out his offensive firepower and spacing.
Agreed
Tim C. Is doing an amazing job he's one of the best GM's in the league but he's got to be somewhat hesitant to make a move that makes the nugs potentially miss the playoffs again.
Disagree - I think he's done fairly well, but to be "one of the best", he's got to make a serious move. As you say, "somewhat hesitant".
This is absolutely not the season to spend a lot of money on free agents though because prices come down next season.
I'd agree with your premise, but my reason would be that the Nuggets aren't ready to contend - yet. Keep the salary structure reasonable and make the big deal only when it's too good to pass up
and it's the right fit.
If the nuggets can just get lucky tonight and get Lonzo ball or josh Jackson they will have a serious contender on their hands.

I'd pay to keep Lonzo Ball out of Denver. He might be good, but his daddy brings too much baggage and since he seems to like it, I'm thinking he'd want the Nuggets to be all about him. No good IMO! --- Jackson? I'd love him, I think.
