Where does Gallinari end up?

Sure, the Nuggets' front office is interested in resigning him. Will they pay $20m+ for him? For how long? How much will he get elsewhere? These are the questions. It's been long rumored that Boston would like him and there's a recent post that says he'd fit perfectly there and I agree. http://nugglove.com/2017/06/06/perfect-fit-gallinari/

What's Gallinari's value? Boil down everything about Gallinari as a player and it sure seems like his greatest value to any team would be to play the first 4-5 minutes of each quarter and the last 4-5 minutes of each game (if it's close). Playing him at the start of each quarter would get your team into the penalty shots really fast. His ability to draw fouls is remarkable, even in this era of flopping (which he does some of, but he's so good at it the refs can't help but call the fouls). Without question, he draws fouls at a "James Harden rate" - almost.

Nugs have to resign him. Even at 25. But it feels like he leaves and gets the contract teams are going to chase Hayward with. Celtics

I think he'll either be here or BOS, be surprised if it's anywhere else.

I see Boston or Miami, the Nuggets will miss his ability to draw fouls but I just think both of those teams will overpay him. Of course I also think Hayward goes somewhere other than those 2 cities.

I can definitely see Miami trying at him and I hope he signs there as it looks to be his best situation.

Not sure why Brooklyn wouldn't throw good money at him.

I'm all for it but if Gallo does it, just proves he's in it for the money

I get it. Last chance for a big contract. Not sure a contender will throw big money at him. I know he loved New York.

He'd be closer to Italy with teams on the East Coast

I don't see him going to Brooklyn. For some reason I have always got the impression that he did not love being the face of the franchise and in Brooklyn he would be, in Boston with Thomas and the young guys he can blend in and with Miami he would be viewed as the 3rd guy.

There seem to be several teams interested in signing Gallinari. Saw a write-up this morning that listed him as an option for the Wizards if they choose to not sign Porter to the max. It even suggested Gallinari could get a near max deal.

How high do you think the Nuggets have to go to retain him? How many years?
Should they pay that much for that long?

I'm guessing he'll be receiving a contract between $25m & $30m for 4 years.
He might give Denver a discount, but he'd probably want one of those 2 year, PO on year 2 type deals - something around $25m.

I'll restate my desire to not resign him. I do not like his fit on the Nuggets and I do believe he is a great player who deserves a better position and a better opportunity.

I would not go over $20 million over 4 years for him, $22.5 million over 3 years, with his age I am just not seeing a reason to overpay for him. I have said for a long time that I think someone is going to overpay for him, his ability to draw fouls and get into the lane while also being a solid 3 point shooter makes him valuable, add his defense when he is focused and he is a damn good player and significantly underrated on Realgm as a whole.

I personally think that with the growth of Jokic, Murray, and Harris, that a guy like Ingles would be the perfect fit while Hernangomez grows into a starting role. The young guys can go a long way to making up for the scoring punch we lose and good defensive role players can improve the defense enough to cover for whatever else is lacking.

With the Kings losing Gay now that adds another team that really needs a SF, and has plenty of cap room. Gay must have really hated Sacramento to opt out or there is a stupid team offering him too much, as Achilles injuries are basically career killers, so teams would have to be stupid to even put him in the same stratosphere as Gallo and that top Sfs.

Let Washington max him
Then we sign Porter

Washington are over the cap even if they don't re-sign Porter...

Yeah, one of the quotes:
"They have an advantage that is what they can offer me five years of the contract, while the other only four. From this point of view is something you have more, but as far as I'm concerned all start from the same starting point."

I see the Kings throwing big money prolly max toward Otto. If Washington matches I see Gallo next on their wish list.

 I see more than one team throwing max money toward Otto. I'd also say that Boston has been interested in Gallinari for a couple of years and if they can't get Hayward, they just might make the best offer to Gallinari, they have the cap space to make a nice 3 or 4 year offer or maybe a 2 year offer with the 2nd year a player option. That latter option might allow them to pay him a little more per year for two years.

What are the possibilities of sign and trade?

Can those ever be 3 team trades?

Could players be added to gallinari in a s&t
