Jefferson signed / Nelson waived

Front office really surprising me with this one. Not so much with the RJ signing, I knew he and Josh K were friends and he provides a lil vet wing depth, but ...

The Nuggets waived Nelson and ate the $4.7 he’s owed. That blows me away. 1 they’re will to go with just youth at the PG spot and 2 they’re making a move that’s fiscally unlike them the past 7ish years. I’m happy they’re embracing the youth movement, this should be really interesting. I’m wondering if Nelson saw the writing on the wall and wanted out? Either way I’ll take it!

I'm with you on being more surprised at Nelson being waived than the Jefferson signing. As much as we like to hate on Jameer, he had a good year and played an important role on this team. Relying solely on Murray and Mudiay to be the point guards is a huge risk. I'll predict right now that they bring in a veteran PG before the trade deadline.

No vet, no Bledsoe, keep pushing Murray and Mudiay, see what you really have. After the year you will be clear and know. Your best bet now is Murray, Harris, Hernangomez, Jokic turn into a great four players and core for years to come. Jokic and Harris are already there, so there is a need to push Muray and Juancho to show if they are those guys.

While the PG's didn't over-play themselves in this game, I love how quickly you are to evaluate this move WITHOUT even seeing what Jefferson can bring JUST TO TRY AND MAKE YOURSELF LOOK KNOWLEDGEABLE, you're so good at that 20/20 stuff  Mudiay may prove you right but it is just 1 game into the season.

How so? It's not obvious to me, so please explain your reasoning.

Do you know what you're talking about? Did you watch last night's game?

Do you typically base the entire season on one game? If so, it will be a really long season for Monk. :banghead: :banghead:

I think it was a mistake because we could use his steadying influence over Mudiay. That guy just doesn't have it

the biggest issue with this is that instead of developing Murray and Mudiay Malone will just give those PG minutes to Barton.

Well, I hope that's not the case but neither Mudiay or Murray had it going on last night, he needed to do something. Just surprised he didn't give Barton more minutes in the 2nd half. Both Murray and Barton had WAAAYYY too many turnovers last night, that has to stop !!!!
