Whats wrong with Chandler & Millsap?

Post#1 » by Wigginstime » Tue Oct 31, 2017 5:51 pm

Chandler is putting up 8/4 on 40% shooting. His inability to contribute is making the lost of Gallo 10x more painful.
Millsap is putting 14/8 on 42% shooting. Looks like a significant decline in athleticism from last year which is disheartening considering the major contract we gave him.

I know its early and I expected inconsistent play from our younger players, specifically at guard. Millsap and Chandler were suppose to be our vets and yet they have easily been the most inconsistent players on the roster.

Did they just start out in a slump possibly due to being out of shape our do we potentially have a major problem on our hands?

This has been discussed in a couple other threads on this board. The short answer is, "nobody knows" and/or "these things happen". Some think it's the coach's "new" offense, which is basically what he tried last year before putting Jokic in charge.

I think Millsap is still getting used to everything and Chandlers stats are suffering because of it, he is used to playing with Gallo and had more space down low, now he does not. Jokic, Harris and Barton needed 2-3 games to get to their form, Murray and Mudiay needed 4-5 games(lets hope they keep playing this way) and I hope Millsap and Chandler will be back to normal around 10 or 15 games into the season..
