Plumlee: D- Has been really bad on both ends. A bad trade, but an even worse extension.
Millsap: B A very good defender but just a guy on offense. Thankfully, team option on year 3 (very unlikely to exercise IMO)
Faried: D Bad on both ends. He was just born a decade or two too late. His game is not for this era.
Lyles: D- Bad on offense, worse on defense. Has shown nothing worthy of being a first round pick or traded for one at either stop.
Hernangomez: C- Marked improvement on defense. Flashes potential on offense.
Chandler: F Just an awful player on both ends. It doesn't help that he's a PF being thrust into SF role he has no hope of fulfilling
Jefferson: Inc Not given any minutes. So very old i doubt he has much left in the tank
Harris: A terrific offensive player and he is above average on defense this year (sucked hard last year)
Barton: C- Good offensive talent, worthless defensively.
Beasley: D Not many minutes, but has done nothing with them
Murray: D The Murray at PG experiment at least for this year has failed. Not good offensively, and very, very bad defensively.
Mudiay: F You can see the potential, but frankly he's still one of the very worst players in the league...
Looking at the long game Denver has the hard part out of the way. Finding the superduperstar. Then they have Harris who is a very good player. Murray and Hernangomez project as solid bench guys even if they never develop into worthy starters. Millsap is getting old so if the Nugs aren't competitive next year at the deadline I'd move him to a contender rather than exercise the option. (Perhaps even take back a bad contract or two and acquire a first round pick for the trouble?). I'd be looking to clean house with the rest of this roster. There is a lot of good young talent entering the league and teams are cap/luxury tax stretched. It's an absolute shame the cap wasnt managed a little tighter the last couple of years so they could take advantage.
Wow, SEVEN of out FIFTEEN players with D's or F's and yet we're in first place in our division and 4th seed in the West.....pathetic evaluation IMO.
Pretty thorough and accurate. Team has been riding Jokic/Harris. The guys I gave D's and F's to have thoroughly disappointed or don't get off the bench...
And many Hornets would receive D's and F's I"m not sure what that comment was about.... notably Dwight, Monk, and Frank...
I mean, if anyone can provide justification for giving Chandler ANYTHING higher than a D I'm all ears. That'd be a heck of an argument to make
Grades vs $$$ are irrelevant - don't grade a guy worse because the front office gave him more money than he deserved.
If you followed this board, you would know we have more than one contract that fans on here did not like.
Let's PER; which is just one way of ranking players, but it's a well accepted method. It should give us some idea of where the Nuggets players rank.
Consider Plumlee. His PER is 43rd in the NBA for centers. That means he's better than some backups. That's not failing, but I'll agree it's not what we want. But that's hardly a D-, it's gotta be a C or maybe a C-.
Faried is 15th in PER and that is not close to your D rating. That's worthy of at least a B.
Lyles is 18th and that is also not a D for sure.
Chandler is ranked as the 50th best SF. Disappointing? Yes. F? Hardly but I'd go so far as to say it's a D for a starter to be ranked so low.
Barton is ranked as the 10th best SG and you have him at a C? Playing SF is out of position for him, because of his size, but he has certainly overcome that in order to tank so high. You gave Harris an A and perhaps that should be reconsidered since he ranks below Barton.
Beasley is a D? As you say, not enough minutes but he still ranks 52nd at SG and that's hardly a D for someone with so few minutes. So evidently he has done something with those minutes.
Murray is the 36th ranked PG and that's not great for a starter and perhaps he deserves the D you gave him, but let's remember that everyone, literally everyone says that most PGs take a couple of years to adapt to the NBA but your criticism of his offense comes from looking at the stats that you ignore when it suits you. We watch him every single game and his offense is improving - although he has bad games as do most shooters. As for your comments about his defense, there is some justification but what you clearly can't see is that he hustles on defense, so it's just a matter of time. He is also handicapped by a defensive scheme that hurts guards statistically because of the approach towards playing pick-n-roll.
Mudiay is ranked 51st and while we are disappointed, that's hardly a failing mark for a young backup PG. At least he shows up, but sure, a D- but let's give him until the end of this year before labeling him a failure (although I'll grant you that on this one, many others will probably agree with you).
I do like your A+ for Jokic and that's probably where I'd rank him too. However, he's the 12th highest ranked player in the league and the 4th highest ranked center - behind Capela, Whiteside, & Kanter (go figure). A+ to me means perfect and truthfully many of us expect more from him, especially on offense. So perhaps an A+ is a little earlier and we're all buying into the hype. On the other hand, he sure is an A+ in entertainment.

Not saying you can't have your opinion, but to give that negative of grades, just doesn't make sense.
