I look back at the last meeting and statistics don't show any major reason for such a lopsided game - well, a few stats do, but surely not so much on the offensive side.

Why is Barton starting over Murray?

This is a very poorly coached team.

All the talent in the World cannot make up for that,

Some Nuggets are hustling, at least on offense, a couple even on defense. But one thing that was clear tonight was a reminder that Plumlee hustles at both ends of the court. If we saw more effort from everyone, the Nuggets' record would be much better.

Reckless speculation:

Barton didn’t look right. He was Invisible the whole 2nd half. Marlowe mentioned that he signaled to the bench, but didn’t come out. Assuming it’s because chandler was ruled out. Maybe a late night drinking between a couple of the wings with Barton drawing the short straw of not being able to use the migraine excuse?

Barton looked like he twisted an ankle but his plus/minus was very high, so he played well. Chandler left with a migraine.

The Nuggets are wildly inconsistent, typical for a team with so many young players. This game was too close for me. Before anyone throws in the towel, remember that it should not be too long before Millsap returns.

Inconsistent implies Nuggets have games you would classify as good, what is the last game you saw where Nuggets played well?

This is a dysfunctional team with no clear direction that simply does not play well. By the ASG break, Nuggets will be below 500.

Making the PO will depend on how bad the other dysfunctional teams in our conference do.

This match vs Dallas is everything but not typical Denver game this season, so no reasons to make any kind of bold statements or conclusions from one extremely bizarre match which we won, fortunately.

We are 19-6 on home matches, which is on the same level with Golden State and Houston, but yesterday we almost lose vs 4th worst team on road in the league despite +13 lead after just opening 5 minutes. We are a 2nd best team in 3rd quarters, but yesterday we lose that period vs weak Dallas 16-32!? Very unusual match by all meanings...

So I'm going to ignore this match without any kind of deeper analysis, and not even with "Win is a win" comment because I find it pretty embarrassing that weak Dallas has a chance to win this match with the last boozer shot.

Upcoming home match vs Celtics is a real test for me, no way Malone will experimenting there (f.e. Murray from the bench) or players will not take the opponent seriously so we have what we have yesterday in that 3rd quarter. Home match vs Boston, currently a 3rd best team in the league, 2nd best on the road, and best on the East, will be definitely our moment of truth.

Denver plays better against better teams - unfortunately they play worse against the worst teams - not a formula for overall success.
