No Devin Booker?
Another day-off... this time with a win!
BTW, we complaining about our FO because they can't find good starting SF, but look at today's Suns' starters, and what that tells us about their franchise. They can't find even decent hairdresser!

Many of us question Malone's player management selections, last year Faried excelled next to Jokic so ????????

Gary Harris seems to be in a bit of a slump heading into the ASG, hope a little time off will reinvigorate his game

Murray has been very boring and passive lately.

Yeah Bender had his best game in NBA so far but it is too much to say he outplayed Jokic, Nikola was not so interested in his personal stats, he was just looking to snatch this away win, as he stated before the game Denver needs more of these.

I think I just saw a ghost. Did the corpse of Wilson Chandler just rise up?

Phoenix, especially without Devin Booker, is a joke team. So I actually like yesterday's low energy efforts in the win from our main players. Before the end of February, we have to play only 5 matches, three of them are home matches vs Texas giants (SASx2 and HOU) and another home game vs Clippers which is "must win". If we win 2 out of these Texas matches + Clippers, this "save the energy" strategy in embarrassing loss vs @HOU and ugly win vs @PHO will pay back. We can use the only February road game vs in-form Bucks as another day-off. So if we win 3 out of these 5 matches, it would be a very helpful step for our #6 goal, knowing we expecting a comeback of Millsap in March.
This short bench problem (Millsap and Plumlee are injured, Faried is out because unknown reason) force us to calculate with the energy of our TOP3 guys, and I really believe we can win 2 out of 3 upcoming matches vs Texacians. We are a rock-good 22-7 home team so far, and this season Spurs on road are not any better than Clippers, Pelicans or Blazers, and why not, we can try finally to beat Rockets after 5 straight loses.

This is a young poorly coached team. It does not belong in the playoffs.
It may stumble in but only due to other teams being so poor.
Nuggets would be much better off missing playoffs, getting Knucklehead fired and starting afresh next season.

Good news is the Nuggets didn't play to the level of their opponent in our previous game. The bad news is, it was a blow out.
Good news is we beat Phoenix. The bad news is, we did play to their level (until the last few minutes).
Can anyone explain why Jokic only played 27 minutes? He had 26 points on 11-15 FG with 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Seems like he was effective.

All the starters got pulled early in the third because they were getting worked over. Bench came in and went on a run so Jokic didn’t end up coming back in until halfway thru the 4th. You can certainly say Jokic was having a good game he should’ve played more, but that specific decision was the right one.

Interesting perspective - Jokic was playing well but others weren't so let's pull Jokic - it worked, but it would not be my approach

Jokic played low energy game with no-defense, most his points come from free throws, and especially in the first half, he has not tried too much anything (finished with just 1 assists). With that type of game, he can play even all 48 minutes without a problem. Technically speaking +8 two minutes before the end of the match is still not over yet, despite low chances for overturning, especially vs such weak opponent. But still, it is not the time any coach should going to sit down his best player which is not in foul troubles, shooting 10-11 FT and played fewer minutes than other starters (two of them even played 40+ minutes last night).
But this decision at least looks less idiotic than it seems usually this season when Jokic in such "last 100 seconds of close match" situations is being replaced by teams worst free throw shooter Mason Plumlee (injured now), which is an almost insane game-finishing strategy I ever witnessed. Except preventing his best player once again to have full experience at end of open matches, or preventing him to achieve 20-10 double-double, I can't see any point of this Malone action last night.

... and why oh why does Malone leave Barton in late game situations when he removes Jokic for "defensive situations"?

Yeah, thanks for that. If you just want to come here to gloat, feel free to not come back. Plenty of Mudiay fans/believers are still here.

Yeah, just wait for the other shoe to fall. 5-14 is what you should expect, and 0-3 is what we've come to expect. However, the 10 assists were nice, but don't see that going forward. He DID lead you to a nice LOSS, thanks for coming across like a douche !!
