Does anyone who understands TPA know if it's a per minute state? Wonder if Jokic's TPA is so high, in part, because his minutes are so high.

So it is. And when this chart was made, Barton was one of the worst playoff performers, which seems about right even though he has been better in the last two games. Millsap is below average, which seems strange.

Consider that various stats measure various things and when looking at Barton & Millsap you are looking at two very different players. Barton gets a block now & then same with assists. His defense is not great (how bad can be debated), but his only true value his scoring. Millsap is very different. He can score from inside & outside. He's not the greatest scorer but he can do it. The same with rebounding, not the greatest but he can do it. His defense is fairly strong and he can switch onto centers (most of them quite well) and he can switch on to SFs. So his value isn't in any one stat area but in his all around ability.

Another weird thing is all the idiots that talk about Jokic's weak defense and yet the advanced metrics show that when he is in the paint, other teams shoot worse from in the paint and score less when he is in there.

Millsap being low on the chart does not surprise me, he has a bad series against the Spurs and those numbers will weigh down his good games against the Blazers..

Yeah, Millsap just had a rough fit with San Antonio but Aldridge playing at PF is a rough fit for anyone.

I think most people are pretty shallow in their assessment of defense. Jokic doesn't fly around and block shots. But he is basically a brick wall--you don't post up on him easily.

Only Jokic, Wilt, LeBron, Bird, Westbrook, Ruland, and Robertson have 20-10-7 type of playoff is the only what you need to know to realize how big is 25-13-8.5 with TS% higher than any of these other 6. And talking about the regular season, only Wilt, Oscar, and Westbrook have a 20-10-7 season before Jokic.

There are so many things to mention when talking about Jokic and of course it all starts with his passing. "One of the best passing big men of all time" or even "the best passing big man of all time". Yet one of the most amazing things about Jokic is his ball handling. There have been other big men that could dribble the ball up court; in fact Plumlee does it fairly well. But I can not think of any seven-footer that has been designated as a primary ball handler and intentionally given the ball to dribble up court on a regular basis.

Interesting article about Draymond Green - now think about what Kobe would say about Jokic as you read this article. Yes, we want Jokic to shoot more but he LOVES making assists and Kobe seems to think those players are very important in the modern NBA.

Maybe it's time for American fans of Jokic to learn some new words. (Dear Serbians, forgive me for just copying from Google translate. Feel free to correct and/or assist.)

Quarterback = Kuarterback (куартербацк)
Dime = Dime (диме)

Jokic was out of this season official TOP3 MVP contenders, which is a travesty (btw I opened last week GB poll about this subject, and over 60% RealGM voters agree that Jokic should be a 3rd candidate instead of George and any other player apart of Giannis and Harden). But if the NBA did not choose him in 2019 all-NBA first team it would be too much, because of one center spot is mandatory and the only contender Joel Embiid played under 65 games this season (Jokic 80+). No scandal this time, Nikola Jokic was chosen as the 2nd ever All-NBA first team after David Thompson in franchise history, and youngest ever foreign player to achieve that. Congrats Joker! BTW even in this voting, you can see how still underrated Jokic is because out of 100 votes he gets 59 1st team selections, Embiid 40!? (and BTW his name is the only which you can't see in this RealGM article title)

Correct spelling in Serbian is Quarterback = Kvoterbek (квотербек) :lol:
American Football is not even close so popular sport in Serbia like basketball, but NFL games are probably most popular regular events after formula-1 races out of those sports with zero connections with Serbia, so, many of us already know basic terms.

Thanks for the Serbian assistance. I was thinking of Jokic as Kvoterbek with the way he passes (especially those full court passes).

This is Nuggets history being made before our eyes. It has been a long time (decades) since this team had a first team all-pro.

We could all see the skill and talent of Jokic but the idea that he could receive such an honor seemed unlikely.
Canned in Denver.

Should have gotten the 2nd or 3rd team nod last year too. Such a shallow voting base

Meanwhile Jokic has managed to cheer up an entire nation when today he addressed Serbian media confirming that he will play this summer for his national team at WC in China and in this way ended all previous speculations on this subject.

Yeah. And this quickly. He didn't waste any time.
