Time to Play Faried?

https://nugglove.com/2018/03/21/denver-nuggets-time-for-kenneth-faried/Suggests the Nuggets need to play Faried in order to make the playoffs. Lists some positives of playing Faried. IMO it's way past time to be playing Faried. Even with our overloaded list of PFs; not playing Faried is one of Malone's biggest mistakes IMO.
Let's remember that Malone isn't saving those PF minutes for development of Lyles, Hernangomez, etc. He's giving them to Plumlee & Chandler - neither of whom are part of the Nuggets' projected future starting lineups.

If we get eliminated from the playoffs, I'm in favor of Faried getting some time so we can showcase him for a summer trade. I don't think he can help us win though and would be perfectly content if he never played another game as a Nugget.

You DO realize he’s a V-E-T, right

Obviously he's not playing him on purpose, if he couldn't see the floor even in garbage time, so doubt that's going to change for the rest of this season.

Yeah, Faried was the only active player that got a DNP last night.

What a slap in the face to Faried, Malone can be such a jerk sometimes.

Worse than that, Faried is paid what, 11 or 12 mil. to warm the bench?

Once Faried starting talking about getting out of here it was obvious he was not going to play for us much if at all. Can't blame him.
The real question is why is he here? He should have been gone 15 months ago.

I wonder if he will be a free agent this year.

No, his contract doesn't end until after next season.

There’s guys like Joakim Noah, Luol Deng, Chandler Parsons etc who are doing even less than that at a much higher price tag.

Afaik, Noah got injured and obviously his level dropped, however if I'm not mistaken Faried is still pretty much the same guy he's always been.

That's a good point. Faried has played at the same level for the last few seasons without any improvement. His contract is higher than a player at his level. There was probably a hope that he would improve his offense and defense as his career went on. His play never really improved and the play of other players did, so he got relegated to the bench.

My biggest complaint about Faried is that his game hasn't improved significantly since coming into the NBA. On the other hand, IMO he makes a wonderful role-playing PF. You know what you are getting and he is very happy banging the boards without having plays called for him. He'll run the baseline looking for an opening for Jokic to set him up and his defense is better than most give him credit for.
Certainly Millsap is the better PF, but PF was never really the Nuggets' biggest problem. Chandler handled PF fairly well and we had some young PFs. Signing Millsap was never a basketball decision. It was about making some "noise" to impress everyone that Denver could sign a free agent with a good reputation.
Clearly Malone doesn't like Faried and he has so many options, he's not going to use him.

Considering how much he plays, more like relegated to the stands

Except those {
BETTER] options are not nearly as productive as Faried was last year.

By most metrics: Millsap, Lyles, Chandler at PF have all been better than Faried last year. Faried without Jokic was terrible offensively and defensively. Jokic + Faried was terrible defensively and good offensively, which says more about Jokic than it does Faried.

I'd like to see those stats. Last time I saw any of those stats, Jokic plus Faried were pretty good on offense and not too bad on defense - but it's been a while.
