If I was a betting man, I'd be afraid to bet on the Nuggets, especially in the last half of this season. The Sixers have won six straight and only one was even close. The Sixers are still trying to climb into third place. They are favored by 5 points, when playing the Nuggets, that's not much. Denver was the underdog against Washington too. We won that one beating the spread by 10 points. I tend to ignore the spread when Denver plays but it's an indicator.
This should be a good game. The most interesting match-up in my opinion is Jokic vs Embiid. I surely hope Malone doesn't try to put Plumlee on Embiid because Jokic will not match-up well against any of their PFs.
The other interesting match-up will be Simmons. Sixers are a tall team and one of our guards will need to cover Simmons. He's not a shooter but he drives and finishes well. With his size, that'll be a little rough, especially if G.Harris isn't able to play. Barton's biggest defensive short-coming IMO is his tendency to let people drive past him. That'll be bad news for the Nuggets if that happens.

Tough matchup, Philly is one of the hottest teams right now. Could be the beginning of the end for our playoff hopes here fellas !

I occasionally watch away broadcasts to get other announcers perspectives on the Nuggets. The 76ers announcers have to be one of the biggest homer crews I have heard and they seem like they just haven't read any scouting reports on their opponents.

Barton with excellent shooting, but whenever he tries to act as pg... cringe

Genius Malone changed Jokic offensive role after Gary Harris injury (instead of being the "playmaker" he is just a "shooter"), Nikola averages less than 4 assists in this 5 games, the same player which collected two triple-doubles in last three games which G.Harris played. So in both Gary-less games (MEM & PHI) where Jokic FG% was bad, we are in big troubles.
Our chances are just theoretical after this loss.

Hate how Jokic is being used. I think it's safe to say if we are building a legit team around Jokic....Paul Millsap is not the answer at PF. Not a good shooter and gets his points in areas similar to Jokic. Not only that but it makes both Jamal and Harris worse since they have much less room to drive. Murray has struggled giving Jokic the ball in the pnr because the paint is much more clogged, making the entry pass much harder. Denver needs to reinvent themselves this Summer and allow Jokic Ball to be the foundation of the team. 3pt shooting, floor spacers, defenders, cutters around Jokic. Just like how Houston is doing around Harden.

Sounds like we need a stretch-4....Trey Lyles anyone ??

You know i'm a big fan of Juancho. I think he's such a great fit with Jokic. His shooting, cutting, rebounding, energy. Lyles is better as an off the bench scorer, he likes to post up a lot.

You didn't like Barton as the only guard? That move shocked me, even from Malone.

That's the way everyone is starting to play the Nuggets.

Couldn't be any worse - no matter how bad he might be. D.Harris is worse than Mudiay but Malone plays him because he's got lots of years.

Isn't this what we were saying last off-season? Build an offense around Jokic? Just a few weeks ago, Malone said he was going to stop calling so many plays. How long did that last? One quarter? Two?

I have to agree with you on this. We have the worst announcers. Alaa is just the worst out there.

I like Juancho too but Lyles has shown he can give consistent points given the mins. He does need to work on his defense but that can come. You give a lot of credit to Juancho without a lot of production so far. Not saying he can't do as well, but I've seen it more from Lyles than Juancho. You want to give it to your "favorite", I say let the best man win. If Juancho wins the starting job, I'm ecstatic, more depth for us !

I like them both and they are both rather different. I'd love to see them as a tandem PF in the future. Perhaps one becomes much better than the other and opinions will change. We don't need a superstar at PF. We have three young players that appear to be our elite. Lyles & Hernangomez look like they'll be great complimentary pieces. --- Push me hard and I'll give the nod to Hernangomez.

I watched the game to see Fultz, and I've seen a decent amount of Nuggets games, but it feels like this team has lost a lot of momentum lately, I guess Harris being out doesn't help either

Malone has went away from what works for this roster, which is playing faster and letting Jokic control the offense, he is back to calling all the plays and trying to force the roster into a traditional offense and defensive system that does not fit the talent these guys have.

Well the Twolves lost last night, so the playoffs are still in reach. I fully expect Malone to call every play tonight and try to slow down the game on defense to ensure that we lose again. He did it last year, he has been doing it this year, and will continue to do it, as he does not learn and this team and roster will always be known in our hearts as a team that underachieved due to a hard headed coach.

Thanks for stopping by - enjoy your posts. It doesn't seem so much like they have lost momentum. It's more like they are just playing more and more inconsistent - from game-to-game as well as within each game.
Last night we scored, by quarter: 27, 32, 15, 30. Chandler will play an entire game and take only 4 shots and another game he'll take 12. Last night Barton had 20 pts in the first half and 5 in the second. They aren't the only players being inconsistent but they are two of the most inconsistent.
