Where we stand among rebuilding teams

Needed a pick-me-up today, so I decided to kinda map out the progress of teams that, like us, have been rebuilding through the draft over the past few years.
Nuggets: rebuilding since 2014
2014: Jokic, Harris & Nurk
2015: Mudiay
2016: Murray
Lakers: rebuilding since 2014
2014: Randle
2015: Russell
2016: Ingram
2017: Ball & Kuzma
Magic: rebuilding since 2013
2013: Oladipo
2014: Gordon & Payton
2015: Hezonja
2016: Sabonis
2017: Isaac
Sixers: rebuilding since 2013
2013: MCW
2014: Embiid & Saric
2015: Okafor
2016: Simmons
2017: Fultz
Suns: rebuilding since 2013
2013: Len
2014: Warren
2015: Booker
2016: Bender, Chriss
2017: Jackson
Kings: rebuilding since 2009 (!)
2009: Tyreke Evans
2010: Cousins
2011-2014: Various Complete Busts
2015: WCS
2016: Skal
2017: Fox
So, those teams sorted by wins this year:
52 PHI (2013)
46 DEN (2014)
35 LAL (2014)
27 SAC (2009)
25 ORL (2013)
21 PHX (2013)
This was probably a big waste of time, but it looks like us and philly are on a similar trajectory that’s far better than the other teams.

Couple of notes, PHI took rebuilding to a career level, losing as much as they possible could to help build through the draft, other than Shaw, our rebuild wasn't nearly as painful. Also, if it wasn't for the rigged draft lottery GIVING the Lakers not one but TWO #2 overall picks, my guess is they be a lot close to where SAC is than where they are now.

You are missing so many young guys that still have a chance to develop for the Nuggets, and really that is where the strength of the rebuild is going to come into play. If Beasley, Morris, Lyles, and Hernangomez are ready to step into steady roles off the bench next year, that makes our needs significantly smaller this year, as then we are only worried about replacing Plumlee and veteran deep depth. Several teams have players with the all star potential that we all see in Harris and Murray, but the depth and Jokic is what puts us up there with the top young teams like the 76ers and Celtics, we just need 1 or 3 more to develop into 20-25 mpg types of players.

I was really just pointing out the key players of each draft to give an i sea of how long each rebuild has been going on. There’s players drafted by all those teams that might become contributors or even are now.
The overall point was to see where rebuilding periods started and how it’s contributing to wins for all these teams.

I get what you were aiming at and appreciate your list but it's still a little slanted because you are just looking at 1st round picks for the most part - but Jokic is in there. So a complete look would include all draft picks or at least all players that have at least played on their team. But it's still a good list IMO.

I could’ve just copied and pasted the whole lists, but the actual players aren’t really the point. You have guys there that aren’t on their respective teams but have been traded for current pieces. I only really listed the key players to show the timeline of each rebuild

Yeah, we can go back to a 9th round pick traded in 1974 and find a way that it may have impacted this year via what that trade resulted in and what the asset from that become and how he impacted the next draft and so on.

Again, I appreciated your list.
