It was announced Mike Woodson is not returning to the Clippers. His reputation is as a defensive coach, or so they say. Is he an option for the Nuggets?

Philosophy can be different than implementation. IMO Woodson has done a better job of implementing.

the issue is that Malone is still the one implementing it.

That's depressing - I'm trying to forget that.

I'm ready for a new chant this season: "1,2,3,6 months".

Then he needs to sit down and watch his old team the Warriors and figure out how they play defense so well despite obvious physical limitations. After that he can sit down and try to decipher what he has seen and how to use that with his roster, then worry about who to bring in as assistants.

Wouldn't mind them watching the current Celtics game films either

I would agree, but that may convince Malone that he should use 2 centers like the Celtics do with Baynes and Horford.
The one thing that Karl did that I always liked was to go figure out what kind of changes he wanted to make with the systems, and then brought in assistant coaches who were experts in that system. If you remember he brought in Moe, he brought in the guy who designed the drive and kick systems, he brought in defensive assistants to teach the gambling defenses. Karl came up with the changes and brought in experts to implement it, and that is what Malone needs to do.

Well, Horford has the mindset of a C/PF. Plumlee doesn't have the shooting ability to be more than a C, his spacing skills suck. And honestly I don't believe Jokic has the mindset (footwork, mentality, confidence, not sure here ????) to play PF it just doesn't seem to click with him.
Yeah, I remember something you said about Malone being stubborn and your spiel about Karl is a true representation of why Malone will never be that guy to take us to the next level, I agree and applaud this statement.
