After 1st checkpoint of vote results, Nikola Jokic is #12 on the West (#19 overall), and #7 frontcourt player on the West (#10 frontcourt overall).

I guess he will finish at the end as #6 WC frontcourt and #10 overall on the West, which is sad to see, but at least nobody like Zaza Pachulia is not ahead Joker. Let's hope coaches and media give him enough votes to overtake Davis and George both for the starters spot (he will overtake Doncic for sure at the end of the voting process).

Hey, one question about this voting stuff...When I vote using nba app on mobile, I can do it once by email, what if I'm using google search to vote and I'm not logged in, can I vote more times each day?

I guess Yes, there is no strict control about the voting process, especially since the impact of fans votes was downgraded by new rules where NBA coaches (25%) and media (25%) is also counted.

I'm personally disappointed about the general lack of the voting support for Nikola Jokic from Serbia if we compare it with Slovenia-Doncic or Giannis-Greece current cases, or Pachulia-Georgia or Ginobili-Argentina cases from the near past. And obviously, Canadians didn't help Murray enough at least to be on WC TOP10 backcourt list, so we can see Lonzo Ball, or even Jeremy Lin on the East, but not Murray. Lack of the bigger US voters supports for this two I can understand only partly. They are both very young and from a small-market team, but how can you ignore team which is #1 on the West most of the time this season??

Fans having any input in this is a joke. The coaches should vote on this and no one else.

I'd agree with eliminating the fans but I'd allow the players themselves to vote

Van vote has been muted in recent years...

"For the third consecutive year, NBA players and media will join fans in selecting the NBA All-Star Game starters. Fans will account for 50 percent of the vote, while all current players and a media panel will account for 25 percent each."

Jokic will get the nod as a reserve no doubt, Murray probably on the outside looking in, like it or not the Nuggets have to make some noise in the postseason before they get the cred a lot of you want them to get. Best record in the west halfway through the season is a nice little achievement...but won't matter much if they don't win in the playoffs.

If the media has a vote, they'll vote mostly for the players that give them good quotes and/or something to report.

If the coaches and/or players vote, they'll ignore certain players because they don't like attitude. :o

If the fans vote, they'll vote for their team's players and/or their favorite players regardless of qualifications, etc.

We might find more success in dropping ping pong balls in a machine based on various statistics comparing to their team's stats and their backup's stats when compared to other players at the same position and ... :banghead:

Anyone for settling this with rock, paper, scissors?

some of those former coach / players sitting on the analyst say the dumbest stuff... would you really trust them?
The all-star game is an exhibition game solely for the fans. Ideally the fans voices should be heard, but for some reason we got weirdos from Georgia stuffing the ballot for some hitman roleplayer that goes after stars' knees and now we can't have nice things.

Yup, but have you ever heard the term "small market"? This isn't Georgia. Georgia has twice the population of Colorado. So you have more people voting - hello?

Almost no order changes after 2nd checkpoint!?

Jokic is still #7 behind Steven Adams, Murray is still not visible (TOP10 backcourt) :noway:

2M Slovenia gives some lessons to much bigger Serbia and Canada how to support their stars, so rookie Doncic and injured veteran Dragic have much more votes than Nikola and Jamal

If we win the next two games (@Pho & Por) Malone will be at ASG as West Head Coach

West starters are selected without Jokic and Malone chances to overtake GSW in next 5 days or Murray to join Jokic as ASG reserve are very small. :noway:

Curry with Harden-LBJ-Durant-George is one guard and 4 small forwards, and considering that the only other relevant ASG starter-level western center Davis is injured, JOKIC IS ROBBED! :banghead:

So will Jokic be on the bench? I don't get how this works.

I doubt he will make it, it will be nice, it doesn't matter if you are starter or not. He should be awarded since his team is way above Lebron and Harden teams , he did crash George two time already this season , cupcake chose to play alongside 5 other all stars on that Golden State team . He should be above all those players but its a mainstream media pushing certain players while they are burying others , more deserving once.

Jokic will be at the All Star 100% sure unless he gets injured (hopefully no)

So if the ASG starters have been selected, what’s going on with captains LeBron and Giannis, what are their “picks” all about ?

Jokic is more respected among coaches than among players or media, and according to players and media results from each, Jokic and Davis are TOP5 frontcourt options https://ak-static.cms.nba.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/46/2019/01/2019-Western-Conference-Frontcourt-NBA-All-Star-Starter-Voting-Results.pdf so this two will be selected anyway, no matter will be used formula 7/5 or 6/6 for frontcourt/backcourt selections. The same we can conclude about two guards Westbrook and Lillard. So chances for Jokic to be selected are about 97% and because due injury Davis most probably will not play, Jokic chances to play is 99% (that 1% is chances to be injured). So, Jokic 2019 ASG presence is not in question, but he is clearly robbed for starting spot with zero centers selected in Western starting-5 (note that his only center-WcMVP rival this season on the West is the injured Davis).

I didn't look at all the rules but basically those two guys pick their teams alternating each choice. I suspect they have to pick the other 8 starters first and move on from there.
