Maybe it was his family member who was in contact with someone... let's not overreact without knowing the details

Want to criticize people? Go ahead and if you do it without knowing all the facts, you will often expose your ignorance. I have yet to be exposed to covid because the family keeps my isolated due to my health issues. Yet someone still needs to go to the store, etc. I can still get covid without ever leaving the house.

Just after scoring his season best, now MPJ is out. Unbelievable.

He's out for a week most likely, he should be fine.

This is not an uncommon occurence, he's young, dumb and invincible but not inhuman. Look forward to him returning, hope he comes back with a vengance !!

How's his defense looking so far? Looking at the on-off stats, not very good - although the sample is still too small to make any conclusions.

Opponents are scoring 124.8 points w/ MPJ in the court (117 minutes) and 111.1 w/o MPJ (224 minutes), that's +13.7.

Better than in the bubble, but still very much work in progress.

Part of that is misleading, the entire team did not start playing defense until the Houston game.

Porter will go long stretches playing solid to good defense, then he will have stretches where he will make a bunch of mistakes over a few minutes. If he can eliminate the lapses he will be a good defender.

Denver Nuggets' Michael Porter Jr. expected to return vs. Dallas Mavericks after completing virus protocols

Good news, out of three games he missed we really needed him only vs Suns, and maybe it is good he missed these three otherwise who knows when would Malone gives some decent time to Green to play. Now is obvious that Green deserves at least 20+ minutes every game.

Nuggets are still a team in a slump, but with BIG3 together and Porzingis still out Denver is the favorite against Mavs. MPJ's role is not just important for Denver because of his efficient scoring but because of his rebounding too. Denver is so far a bottom-5 team in rebounding (2nd worst in defensive rebounds).

You do realize that Green was out injured the 1st 4 games don't you? Green has always been expected to get minutes.

You do realize how often in posts which are you start with "You do realize" it is you who not realizes something important?

Green debuted in MPJ's absence but still averaged under 20 minutes in these three games, despite monstrous 80%TS% shooting (including 62% for threes). At the same time, Barton played 30+ mpg (including two 35mpg+ games and many minutes as PF) despite 43%TS% (3p% 29%). It is not that hard to imagine how Green's minutes would be even more limited if Porter played these three games.

Green got those limited minutes because he is not totally in shape due to the injury. He was obviously gassed many times while on the court.

Speaking of Green, I think he'll fit quite nicely alongside Porter.

Well, Porter out ANOTHER 10-14 days, guess he didn't follow protocols or something. Guess he doesn't realize he's hurting his team :banghead: :banghead:

Is it protocol or did he test positive? There was a report today that 4 players around the league tested positive, and we have no ever had confirmation that Porter had it prior to the bubble.

The Nuggets are never overly good at communicating information on many items - and this is one of those. It's hard to know why his quarantine is extended. The world is still working out how to deal with covid in general and the NBA is no different.

This is a very strange case to be 17+ days in quarantine, while for all others 7 days is enough between two negative tests.

I have a few theories which can explain this.

- He is tested COVID19 positive, but why only in his case NBA didn't announce that?
- He is actually punished by the NBA because COVID19 risky behaviour, but again, why the NBA did not announce that to send message to all other players?
- He finished his quarantine successfully and cleared to play vs Mavs, but then doing something stupid against NBA COVID19 policy rules again yesterday and sent to another quarantine circle. It would be shocking and unprofessional from him, but remember, he has some bizarre statements about COVID19 a few months ago (Nuggets' Michael Porter Jr says Covid-19 is being used 'to control the masses'), so maybe he still not take coronavirus pandemic seriously or on the very wrong way, so no surprise it happens to him out of all NBA players? Remember Gobert case from March when he was almost "destined" with his risky behaviour to be first NBA player COVID19 positive.

Or perhaps he cleared quarantine and then was exposed to another person and ... we just never know about every person around us.

Well, hard to know but probably has COVID at this point, just seems he wasn't taking very good precautions and it is really a stupid move considering the consequences to him and the team in such a shortened season. He's already missed 3 games so far and appears he'll miss another 5-7 games. That's almost 10% of the season....as Forest Gump says:

"Stupid is as Stupid does"
