2019/2020 Denver Value Dump

Post#1 » by Coeur » Sat Feb 22, 2020 2:50 am

The offseason leading up to this 2020 season the Denver Nuggets were a deep, actually too deep of NBA roster. The 2019 playoffs ended for the Nugs not being good enough 3-5 or so in the roster. Though the Nugs fans could brag still of being maybe the best 8-13 of anyone.

After taking Jokic, Murray, and Plumlee minutes out of the equation you really leave 3 spots 48 minutes to give out.

Guys who think they should start: Harris, Barton, millsap, Malik Beasley, and Grant. (5 players)

Guys who know they deserve rotation player (5-8 on roster type mins) : monte Morris, hernangomez, Torrey Craig. (3 players)

Guys who want a shot: Porter, Vanderbilt

Happy to be on this team: dozier, bol Vlatko Cancar (3 players)

So really you have 10 guys for 3 spots. There’s no way that works.

Lose Vanderbilt, hernangomez, and Beasley for nothing because you didn’t have enough for them to eat.

You drop value but keep Harris, Barton, and monte Morris.

You put yourself up against it with grant and Craig outperforming what you want to pay next year.

This whole thing could be seen coming a mile away. Any other fan base would be pitchforks and torches to the front office. Not here. And prob an ownership decision that the front office has to try to push past us anyway.

Good front office guys from Denver will start leaving this offseason. And there is a bleak roster outlook for improvement next offseason

Almost every poster in this board massively over valued Gary Harris going into the season and was wrong.

You are way too negative as usual, but also correct in many ways about this.

Talking about our roster and playoff competitiveness we just need a third big contributor to add to Jokic and Murray. While I agree FO missed opportunity to take such guy when we have many more assets, we actually get that 'The Third Man' in Porter. So our future still looks very bright, and there is room to improve more this summer, despite less tradable assets than last summer.

Yeah I know what you’re gonna do. But what are you going to do right now? is the answer to that mindset. You’re saying you don’t have to make sure to fill in the missing spaces. You just going to luck into it. (Knicks like thinking)

Porter ready to be guy 3 this year? No. So you’re giving up a chance to win a title. It’s not porters fault. They won’t even let him fail at being guy 3 this year. So they’ll try that next year.

But could’ve guaranteed having another guy like an Aaron Gordon or Bogdanovic with a trade of Harris and millsap when it was possible.

Please explain this.

Can you trade Harris and Barton as value?

Do you have backups like Beasley and Hernangomez and monte Morris you can trade for value ? (Morris backup pg value goes way down with a PG heavy draft and the others are gone)

Only improvements I see are better value contracts for same couple guys. Plumlee maybe under 10 per. Millsap even less

Dozier and bol bol ready for step into roster spots.

Ok what can they do but trade future picks
