Wiseman is probably the key to this game. He's too quick for Millsap and even though Jokic isn't quick, he usually finds himself in the right place. He's going to have to focus on defending Wiseman. Now that's just my opinion, but there you go.
Green will never win in the box score but he can sure make things difficult on the floor - no matter who is covering him.
Oubre is long and starting to score. Let's hope he doesn't have a total breakout tonight.
Wiggins is starting to make me believe he just might be worth keeping (on any team, or at least the Warriors). He's also a long player.
Curry - uh, well, um, yeah, even with Harris & Murray & Morris & Dozier & Barton all spending time covering him - good luck.
On the other hand,
The Warriors have no one that can even slow down Jokic. But after that, with the Warriors long defenders, who is going to score? We need a big game from Murray and we need Harris to score a few and Barton. I don't believe Millsap can score much in this game. Maybe our bench can score more than a few points.
We need lots of motion on offense and if we combine that with plenty of Jokic-Murray pick-n-rolls; I have no doubt we can win.

If Denver can't stop Wiseman , then they should quit playing basketball, you have MVP front runner ( your words, not mine), on the center position so there shouldn't be any worry in that match up

Curry? Nah, he's going to do what he's going to do.
Green? Nope.
Oubre? Wiggins? Still not elite.
Jokic? Nah, he's going to do what he's going to do.
Millsap? Nope.
Barton? Harris? Murray? Too inconsistent!
Gotta be Wiseman. He can be good or he can be held back by some defense. That falls on Jokic unless Malone decides to give Green 30 minutes or Nnaji some significant minutes.

OK, what kind of game do you expect him to have to make this kinda impact ? 15pt 8rebs ??

Still no news about Gary Harris. As I say many times, teams which franchise player are guard is the best matchup for Harris, because defense alone is enough. Without Harris, we are seriously at risk of Curry scoring 40+.

Every team takes that risk

But in fairness, Curry seems to have lost his fervor in the regular season, perhaps that's just me.

He averages around 10 & 6. I'm good with that. His first couple of games were close to 20 pts. He's had a 2 or 3 games where he had close to 10 rebounds. If he gets 15 & 8, I think we're in a little trouble. Not because he's scoring but because that'll probably mean our bigs are also taking fouls. He doesn't usually get lots of FTs, but his game is improving and we don't want a breakout.
On the other hand, I do get what you are saying. Curry's the only other Warrior that I think can hurt us - if he goes off for 40+ pts.

Gotta love the 41pts off the bench, that's usually a win IMO

Define "Halftime": A break in play where coaches can change their game plan.
I didn't exactly get it totally right about Wiseman; but then again, he was 2nd on the Warriors in scoring and 2nd in rebounding with 18 & 5. Not bad for a rookie! Plus Curry
only scored 35.
Millsap & Barton did better than I expected. Our starters were 6-25 from 3 --- that's terrible.
skywalker33 wrote:Gotta love the 41pts off the bench, that's usually a win IMO
and their bench only had 20 pts.
Green & Morris had better games than Millsap & Barton.
42 bench minutes for Campazzo & Morris - Malone seems focused on playing his best players - it's a good thing we don't have 4 or 5 more talented guys under 6' because he might try to play them all at once - there are a few teams around the league that have five starters over 6'5" - teams like the one that bounced us out of the playoffs last year

Oh yeah, I forgot about him. He did play, right? Too bad, we could have used a scorer. At least Millsap & Barton & the bench helped Jokic.

I predicted 40+ points for Curry without Harris, he was close but not take enough shots (14-23). But even if he scored 40 it would not be enough against triple-double MVP Jokic and Denver with 7 players in double digits (including 3 from bench). Talking about double digits this is another 2020-21 game with 10+ lead for Denver at halftime. Denver's biggest problem last season was game openings, so Nuggets are #20 in net ratings for 1st quarter, but this season somehow we become experts with #2 Q1 net rating, but unfortunately we are not elite closers anymore.
All in all Warriors are the best team we beat so far this season, we should be happy with this game.

Good win, Ill take it. Some things are starting to gel a bit more.
This seems like a really good role and experience for Bol. He gets minutes, but not too many and when he is in, he is the 4th/5th option and doesn't have to do much on the offensive end which I think will help him learn and grow a lot. He can focus on defense, which he has been pretty solid with, and he doesn't get too fancy on the offensive end. Playing within his means I think is going to be huge for his growth. He may be capable of a lot of things, but he gets sloppy.
JaMichael Green was a great pick up. He and Milsap have been great for floor spacing this year.

1-8 on 3-pt shooting last night, those are Barton-type numbers. Can't wait to get MPJ back

Ouch!

But tell me the truth; are you confident the Nuggets can win any game right now? I have no doubt they can beat anyone; but I also have no doubt they can lose to anyone.
Forgetting the games, just look at the inconsistent play quarter-to-quarter:
1st - Won 10 of 12
2nd - Won 6 of 12
3rd - Won 5 of 12
4th - Won 6 of 12
OT - Won 0 of 2
Total ------------- Won 27 of 50 - that's barely over 50%
Games where the Nuggets won 4 quarters? 0
Games where the Nuggets won 3 quarters? 4 out of 12 and one of those we lost in OT

Did you guys know that every shot that Curry shoots is amazing and such a great shot, just amazing, it really is amazing how good he can shoot. Reggie Miller should be ashamed at how terrible he calls games with Curry in them.
Anybody else have to keep double checking the score because the announcers were spending so much time kisses the Warriors asses?
