Unfortunately, Jamal Murray is out too, so we are at risk to lose another game vs Kings. Without best guard Murray, the other backcourt starter and best defensive player Harris, and without two important backcourt backups Campazzo and Dozier, our backcourt line is in big problems even after redirecting Barton from SF to a 100% guard role.

This will force Malone to use Hampton 20+ minutes, and even Howard (probably 10+), with Morris, Green, and Porter playing without usual Malone forced playing time reduction. If Jokic plays another MVP level game and Porter gets rid of the obvious frustration he showed in the last 3 games Nuggets are still with better chances to win despite the sudden Kings' big backcourt (Fox-Hield-Haliburton) advantage.

Tonight is Hampton's Game, huge opportunity for him.

And MPJ should get 30p tonight

Dont think so, I could see Malone playing MPJ @2, Barton @1 and Bol @3 so he doesnt give much time to Rookies..

Tied 1st half with both teams playing better defense than offense. With so many Denver guards out Jokic playing once again his favorite playmaker role, so I hope he ends this game with a 30p triple-double. I don't like how MPJ played in 1st half, seems he lost confidence, after 0-5 for 3pt last game he is 1-4 today on halftime, a very bad for league TOP10 3pt shooter. Without Murray and with full-time minutes he should be clearly our #2 player today, I hope he finds it in 2nd half. I'm confused with Green's restricted playing time in 1st half, I really surprised he played under 10 minutes despite 2 starters are out. Hampton looked lost and like a player who not deserves to play in NBA yet supporting Malone's decision to play him for about 3 minutes per game. But more and more he played, his confidence grows, and he energized the team grabbing a shocking 6 rebound at halftime for a 6'3 guy.

We can win this, but only without another 3rd quarter collapse.

Getting swept by Kings? Hope this is the season's low we hit.

MPJ played like crap. If that's what he shows at practices too, don't wonder why he doesn't start. -20 with him on the floor...

It felt like Kings have scored every point over Jokic tonight , the most annoying was Holmes who have scored 18 points the same way all night long , that floater from the exact position off the pick and roll . Its embarrassing being swept by the Kings, but tonight Denver was really shorthanded . And this team still playing poorly , even though this roster is not that bad , hopefully Denver will get fully healthy at one point in the season and then let see what they can do when everyone is ready to play.

Malone should be proud because we managed to lose against lottery team Jokic career first 50+ game, only because Malone killed our player supposed to be our 2nd best player when Murray is out, so Porter was clearly our worst player today (-20 in +/- in a close game where nobody else was worse than -4!?) shooting 1-12 for three in last two games and almost air balling his 1st FT attempt today.

Except for the 50-8-12-3 monster Jokic game, we should be happy for what we saw from RJ Hampton's energetic performance with a leading good rebounding team with shocking 10 rebs (for a 6'3 guy), and together with Barton he stopped Hield, so I hope he will get another chance at least until Murray and Harris are out. Millsap and Green were decent both, but their playing time is still reduced to under 25 despite we playing without 2 starters because Malone played some of Barton 37 minutes as forward. Barton was bad today in the offense (4-12 FG), his hero balls didn't work, but defensively he was good today, especially during his SG minutes when he stopped Hield. Morris was good as expected in his prolonged role w/o Murray, while Howard disappointed, shooting 1-6 for 3pt was very bad for a player we sign to be our hidden 3pt specialist from the bench.

We expected Kings guards domination today, but it's not Fox and Haliburton 23+ games which beat us but MPJ underperforming and Barnes+Holmes 49p-17r combined performance (19-29 FG). Against all odds, Denver is 0-3 this season vs Kings (two of these games we played without Murray), and particularly these three losses make this season disappointing so far with a frustrating 12-10 record instead expected 15-7. Not that the Kings are the worst team in the West with their rookie as the leading candidate for a ROY award and Barnes+Holmes playing career-best season, but they are still lottery team for West standards and we still lost all three games.

That was ugly. MPJ might be as inconsistent as Murray.

RJ Hampton seems to play really well for his first bigger minutes. His defense and hustle I liked.

Jokic - WOW!
Millsap - Decent enough
Barton - Trouble scoring
Porter - Trouble scoring
Morris - Nice game

Green - Decent enough
Hampton - Impressive (10 Rebounds??? WOW!)

Shooters can have off-nights. If either Barton or Porter had been at 50%, we win.

Most amazing stat? Missing two starting guards & one regular backup guard and the four guards that played had almost half the minutes played.

Can't agree with you guys that Morris had a nice game, offensively kinda meh, 11 points in 35 minutes, hit only 1 three, while defensively he was a non-factor. I guess that's why he's a backup not a starter.

Btw, wouldn't write-off Howard just yet, it's literally his first meaningful minutes and he looked pretty nervous, I guess felt/tried to "prove" himself and didn't hit almost anything, though he was getting some good looks - I don't think he forgot how to shoot, once they start falling in it will be a different story.

I'm not worried about Howard - shooters need PT and young shooters need practice and PT. We'll see someday, I hope.

Morris shot 5-11 but he also had 5 rebounds and 9 assists. 9 assists on a night when Jokic has 12, that's pretty good. Jokic + Morris + Barton had 26 of our 30 assists. I said "nice" because he wasn't someone struggling. He played his game. On defense, their starting guards only scored 29 points and they average over 35. So I'd say our guard defense, including Morris, did a decent job.

Idk, Fox and Haliburton did whatever they wanted, it was like watching Mitchell in those first few games vs Jazz in the playoffs. RJ did a good job on Buddy, feels like he was the only one actually playing the defense outside Jokic.

Yeah, I'm not going to get real excited either way about our guard play. Without Harris & Murray, it really isn't significant. I do believe Morris is our 3rd best guard overall with Barton as an ideal guard off the bench. I think those four are all NBA ready, but I think we need more consistency from all four (not too big of a deal though IMO). The rest still need to prove themselves - and I'm okay with that.

Well, the Kings just beat the Clippers with similar result and Fox played even better, I guess credit where it's due. :)
