The best thing Denver doing this season, and in the series vs Portland too, was 1st quarters... but against the Suns, we can't win any of the 4 1st quarters played so far (including bold -8, -10, -6 losses in last 3). Now we are in a position to find a way for 1st win in what we are worst this season - in 3rd quarter (vs Suns we lost every 3rd with at least 9+ points). Let's hope for a miracle.

It wasn't meant to be. The Murray and Barton losses were too difficult to overcome and not having PJ really hurt us in this series.
I'm not too concerned, as the team went as far as it could given the circumstances. Hopefully MPJ continues to improve, Murray gets healthy and we'll be back in the WCF.
Anyways, enjoy the Summer everyone!

Seems to me we lost every game in this series in the dreaded 3rd qtr, we have to find a way to stop that bugaboo.

For years the 3rd quarter has been when the guards have taken over, Jokic plays a lot more off the ball in the 3rd, and even Murray really only plays hard for the 1st couple of minutes in the 3rd, the rest of the time it has always been Barton or Harris taking over in that time. Since Harris has went down our 3rd quarter depends heavily on how well Will or the 3rd ball handler/scorer played.
Gordon has the reputation as a 2ndary ball handler that can score, dribble, and pass well for a forward, but I must say his time here shows that he is not nearly as good at any of it as his reputation says he should be. I have never been a huge fan, and always thought those parts of his game were overrated, but I am still very disappointed. We desperately needed him as a scoring option and creator once Murray went down, the playoffs showed that he just isn't good enough to be in that role on a contender.

The best thing that will come out of last night is the national conversation that suddenly started happening after that fiasco with the refs. Throwing Jokic out of the game has brought how he has reffed out into the open finally, and maybe just maybe the refs will knock their **** off. I wish they would talk about how the 2 previous plays Jokic had been hard fouled on drives to the rim without a call, but at least people are finally starting to see. Someone is going to get hurt if the refs continue to call JOkic as badly as they do, and fact is our coaching staff and ownership don't seem to worry about it, the fans got some reaction a few weeks ago, maybe now the league will step in and stop this crap.
Overall guys looked tired all night, hell they looked tired the entire series. They did not have the energy or fire we saw in the 1st round, and we got beat. This team was underdogs in the 1st round, they were worse underdogs coming into this series, but I thought we could steal a couple especially with Barton back, but we all knew we were going to lose.
