Summer League
Well, it's already started, the Nuggets and presumably the rest of the league have started putting together their Summer League rosters. Younger players like Zeke Nnaji and Markus Howard, perhaps even Bol Bol will get opportunities to start honing, developing and showcasing their skills for their current and/or possibly future teams. The first outsider to join our team is coming out of the Nigerian National team as well as the Israel League, his name is Caleb Agada. He a 6'5" combo guard who has an all-around game, he has a decent 3-pt shot, can score (avg'd 22.9ppg in his league) is athletic and has quick hands as noted by his 2.4 steals. Just read about him but I'm already looking forward to seeing him in Training Camp

Giorgi Bezhanishvili joins the Nuggets for SL, a rugged 6'9" F out of Illinois.

Zylan Cheatham, a 6'5" SF who played for OKC and NOP previously has agreed to play for the Nuggets SL team

I wonder if Greg Whittington ever recovered from that Knee injury, his profile makes him sound like he would be a great fit at backup SF.

Re: Summer League
So here's a link to the SL roster, some interesting names there. Looking forward to seeing Bol at Center, see more of Nnaji and Bones will be of interest too. Saw Matur Maker at the F position, caught me off guard. The family has some talent but will be be alble to show anything other than size. Agada listed at 6-3 was disappointing, have seem him listed at 6-5 before, which made it a little more appealing. Now seems in direct competition with Hyland, know where that edge is going to. Semaj Christon is another name to take note of, he was a former 2nd rd pick I thought had the athleticism and shooting to become an NBA bench player, we'll see if he has anything more than a SL body.

Jimmer Fredette at age 32 is attempting a comeback. He was the leading scorer in the NCAA at one time and was drafted in the first round at pick 10. If I remember correctly he could shoot but couldn't defend a stop sign. Fits with the Nuggets summer league team though.
Canned in Denver.

Re: Summer League
Nuggets have added Kenyon Martin Sr to the Summer League coaching staff. Hopefully, he can bring some of his tough defense to this team, even if it's just in the SL.

Re: Summer League
Move over Joker, the "Bol-Bol-Offense" is about to take flight in Vegas...seems they're wanting to take a look at his passing skills/court-vision in the SL. Seems to me they're wanting to showcase Bol if they can

Re: Summer League
Caleb Agada looking like a chucker, Bol needs to work on in-game shooting. Coach not playing Zeke, Bones, Howard into the 3rd, not sure what the goal is here. Down but 20pt, guess SL isn't meant to be a winning endeavor.

They are out due to Covid protocol. Sounds like some other players are out as well and some of the coaches have had to scrimidge with the players because of a lack of players. At least that is what I thought I heard on tonight's broadcast.
Canned in Denver.

Re: Summer League
Pretty poor display on the first night of SL but as Tuna, health protocols had a lot to do with it, seems a few teams around the league were dealing with it but we played through it. Bol and Agada were taking the most shots but both had the worst shooting pcts on the team, guess that was par for the Nuggets luck right now. Hope things go better in the next game, perhaps more passing is needed.

Re: Summer League
ABSOLUTELY DISMAL shoot night for Nnaji, couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Hyland was off on his 3-pt shot but Bol had a good night scoring 26. Hope the TC/pre-season/regular season doesn't go this bad

Re: Summer League
Based on his play in summer league, Bones Hyland is a point guard.

They are trying to highlight/develop his skills other than scoring, I do like his size off the bench at PG more than SG. Developing his handles not a bad idea IMO

Definitely looks like a Murrayesque shoot-first point guard, which seems fine to me in this offense. I do like the traditional lead guard distributor, but I can see this working both short term and when Murray returns. Here's hoping he can contribute early.

Feels like he is being groomed to be our Lou Williams/Vinnie Johnson type guy with better handles.

Re: Summer League
I'm liking Bones Hyland's play but with Morris & Murray & Rivers & Campazzo and maybe Howard & Harrison --- IMO we have enough guards under 6'6".

Do you really see Rivers sticking around once Murray returns, he seems the odd man out IMO
