Nuggets Preseason 2021

Nuggets first game is Oct 4 against the Clippers. It appears it will be broadcast on NBA TV at 10:30 Eastern, 8:30 MST but not sure if that is Canada only.

Joker is obviously still doing some paternity duty, good for him, so he won't be playing, will Bol get the start ?? Hoping to see him and Hyland get some PT, like to see if they are building that chemistry we're hearing about. Other players I look forward to see are MPJ, Rivers (who believes this is his last chance at the NBA) and Barton, wondering how he'll integrate with his role on this team.

Barton almost for sure is not going to play due to that ankle scare

MPJ going off for 21pts/6rebs in the 1st half, seems that extension was a good investment. Overall our 3-pt shooting sucking but we're still in it. Glad this is preseason though

MPJ was the best player on the floor for either team. Bones looks great. Still, just practice.

How about some defense from Bol Bol, FIVE blocks, altered a few more. Keep forgetting he's only 21yo, think he's coming to play this year.

Gotta express some concern for out PG situation, Morris and Facu going 0-11 on the nite, expected more from out vets. 8asts and 3stls between the two of them is not gonna cut it, even with Jokic coming back

Joker gets back on the court tonight, hopefully assists go back up. MPJ might not play because of a sore knee, trust that's not too serious. If he doesn't play I could see Bol getting a few more mins. Looking for better PG scoring tonight, I want to see if AG and Joker start to build some chemistry and the ever-hopeful development of one Bones Hyland !!

And Joker immediately dominated in game 2. MPJ was held out and the Nuggets continue to play Cancar a lot of minutes that I would give to Nanji but Malone seems to like Cancar. Bones Hyland wasn't as effective scoring (11 points) but he lead the team in assists (6). Seems like he turned down a number of open shots, perhaps to work on his passing.

The play of both Joker and MPJ are very promising, like what I've seen of Dozier and AG as well. Bones has also glimmered although he does have a ways to go, looks like TC struck gold again. A bit disappointed with the rest of the crew in Rivers, Morris, Facu and Nnaji, need to see SOMETHING outta these guys soon.

I saw the same problems from last season pop up against the Warriors: The bench surrendering massive leads and poor guard play.

Bones Hyland needs to learn how to play at different gears. Right now, he just looks like Will Barton without the jumpshot and having two Bartons is not exactly an ideal situation.

So, we're 0-2 in the preseason, lost by a total of 3pts between the two games.....anybody worried ?? I think we're OK, just need to get some healthy players and build a little chemistry. About two weeks until the season starts, any thoughts on what you've seen so far ??

They aren't playing to win. By the end of the fourth quarter in both games they substituted the end of their bench however close the score was at the time. Malone is taking a long look at guys who they need to appraise. If he wanted to win the last game he would have played Jokic in the second half.

I am more concerned about the minutes some guys are getting particularly Nanji. I am also concerned by the number of point guards playing at the same time but it is preseason, perhaps that is on purpose to assess skill.

In that case, we will probably see Morris, Fau and Bones playing at the same time soon.

I agree that this is more dress rehearsal for the Nuggs, especially given both MPJ and Joker very limited mins. That said only 2-3 games left before regular season, are we gonna finalize a starting lineup/build some chemistry before the he 20th’s season opener ? Is Malone that cocky ?

Facu and Rivers should never be on the court together, questioning why either are on this team...other than to collect paychecks

Other than Bones, has to be THE WORST bench performance in Nuggets history.

Bones moved into the starting lineup at the beginning of the 3rd quarter and erupted for 18 points in that quarter. That was some show.

I didn't hear anything on the broadcast as to why Morris didn't play in the 2nd half but I don't think it was injury.

Feels more like that assessment in preseason phase, Bones showed well but our bench just sucked, every bench player has a negative +/- which is just pathetic.
