Great first quarter, embarrassing 2nd quarter. These are the ugly types of games that the Nuggets have a penchant for losing this season. There's no excuse to lose to a team that's missing its top 3 players. Yet, the Nuggets have 13 turnovers at halftime, 7 of those turnovers are from the bench.

Denver lost several road games this season after a double-digit lead on halftime, and almost lost several others after 1st half 10+ lead, so I complained often about that. But Nuggets overall positive 14-12 road record was actually over my expectations. Just remember, when Denver was Western #2 seed back in 2019, we have a league-best home record (34-7) but the away record was actually negative (20-21)! In the past two seasons, our road record was a little bit better, but there was Murray, MPJ, and due to pandemic reasons there was a bubble period (neutral field) and crowd restrictions next season. So, I'm so far much happier with our 14-12 road record (#8 in league) than 13-9 at home (#12).

You'll take the win, but overall it was a sloppy performance. Allowing 56 points in the paint and committing 21 turnovers will get you beat by the good teams. Games like these should be easier.

On the flipside... The Jazz lost, closing the gap between them by 2 games. That 4th spot looked completely out of reach a couple of weeks ago, and it may very well be out of reach still. But it's nice to know that they're taking advantage of the soft portion of the road trip.

I have to admit that I was wrong, I didn't see Cousins being the greatest fit on our roster, but with him, Forbes, and Ross our bench seems to have improved considerably. A month ago we lose this game.

The bench is looking way better. Nnaji is playing more consistently and growing into a 4. Cousins is making an impact. Malone finally pulled the trigger and let Bones play his natural position, point guard and the bench had more offense. They need to move Facu back to 3rd string.

We will see how long the bench can improve from here.

Sorry Reed, I have been reading a lot of rumors about Ross getting traded from the Magic.
