MPJ and Jamal Returning

Via Chris Dempsey:

- Jamal Murray will 100% be back this season.

- Look forward to a couple of returns here in the next 7-10 days.

- Michael Porter Jr probably won't need a stint in the G-League.

- Jamal is definitely ramping up for a return.

- If everything continues how it has expect Jamal to be back with the team in Denver and then on the court shortly after.

This source got this info from Chris Dempsey on Altitude Radio's morning show. From what I heard of it, expect Jamal back during this homestand. I missed the MPJ portion, but it sounds like that may be the same as they won't be sending him to Grand Rapids because they don't feel he needs the 5 on 5 practice.

I got Sunday tickets, so I am hoping that's the day but if it's not, still very exciting news.

HOpefully they are able to shake off enough of the rust and mental blocks to help in the run up to and into the playoffs.

Great News! Now if they can only get into shape quick enough to be effective for the playoffs.

I can already tell MPJ isn’t going to have any rust, the dude has a certain kind of god given talent that can’t be taken away from him. MPJ actually looks stronger in some of his recent workout videos which might be a very good thing for his development. I just worry Jamal might have trouble trusting his body in time for the playoffs, even if he’s truly at 100%.

Yeah, I'd keep those minutes down, even with the playoffs ahead. Rather err on the side of caution. Sutton had the same ACL surgery and while you see glimpses, he's not full speed yet. Blue Arrow will get there, no doubt though. MPJ i'd take easy, his confidence may not be there yet, he needs to trust that won't happen again with his back.

Feels like Malone is just posturing here. I agree in letting them both come back at their own pace, even if it turns into next year.

I think that he just doesnt want to answer sub questions that would happen if he says they will be back any time soon, he wants to focus on what he has and rest of the games we have, and other guys will focus on them.

So, MPJ has another 'minor set back', feels like we should just shut both MPJ and Jamal down for the season

MPJ having a set back is a bad sign that he is ever going to be healthy long term. recovery from the surgery was supposed to be 3-4 months and we are well over 4 months since the surgery.

I would like a real update on Murray before writing him off for the season, but we all know the Nuggets aren't going to give us that.

Yea, I think it's pointless to get upset when we literally don't know a thing about any of them.

Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr Unlikely To Play In Playoffs

An unpopular decision, but I fully support it. Denver is a legit 2022-23 contender, so why gamble with that if in the first month after the comeback both barely will gain 80% of their best, and both are at a higher risk to be re-injured? With extra 6 months without competitive games, they will be in a position to start 2022-23 'normally' from the very first game!

I expect we'll get about 20PPG and 5.5apg from Jamal. We'll get a good idea from what he does with Team Canada

These are actually pretty bad news. Its been much more than a year since he got injured and he is still restricted to practice due to recovery.

I would not expect much from him this season...
