Bruce Brown

I just realized that our most important 2022 newcomer (together with KCP) Bruce Brown destined to be our 2022-23 Factor-X (together with Bones Hyland) still doesn't have a personal thread here.

Brown has a true breakthrough last season after the All-Star break, and note that almost the same high numbers he produced later in the 14 playoff games too!

In Brooklyn, the Brown case was in the deep shadow of Durant, Harden, Irving, and lately Simmons's situation, so maybe we stole jewel this summer, especially if his 3p% stays 40%+! What I don't like about his team-friendly $13M/2 contract is that a 2nd year is a player option (Jeramy Grant alert!).

While I liked the move to trade Barton, the signing of Brown was just as important...and it feels like we got steal at 2-yrs for $13M. By the stats above, looks like BB was just breaking out, is only 25yo, and will solidify the defense off the bench and be a stabilizing force with both Bones and Nnaji.

Great move, Welcome to Denver BB

The thing I like about Brown is that he came into the league as a PG but switched to SF last year and did considerably better off the ball.

So of course he has good handles for a SG so he can help with the inexperienced Bones on both ends while not being Barton and trying to take over the whole offense.

I love this signing, and I actually think he could end up being SG starter during PO. Considerably higher upside than KCP.

My only fear is we can not extend him next season unless he accepts another generous pay cut. This is a different situation from Grant 's were Denver had full Bird rights. Denver only holds Non Bird rights, which enable the Nuggets to offer him 7.77M next season, insufficient if he plays as we all hope

He seems like a very high IQ player who is good at finding his spots on the floor. With Jokic, that is obviously huge. Hopefully, the 3-point shooting can keep up.

The difference is that he (allegedly) really wanted to come to Denver, unlike Grant who was unhappy with his role. If he has a really good season, I'm sure they will find a way since it's mutually beneficial

Well, Gordon said Brown is about to get paid in their press conference, but I really hope he stays for one more year, the depth that the Nuggets had this season was the game changer

Gordon is being paid and is locked in for at least two more seasons. The entire starting lineup is locked up. Bruce Brown has a player option and he is likely moving on for a contract that Denver can not give.

I take back what I said about Bruce. He may take a bridge contract (TPMLE) to earn bird rights to stay with the Nuggets. It's hard to believe but Portis pulled the same contract with the Bucks to gain the same bird rights.

If you saw the parade you would understand my change of heart.

Well, it's not like $7-8M is a bad payday for coming off the bench and winning a 2nd ring, is it ?

Think I heard today is the day BB has to decide to opt-in or opt-out, we'll see if he was in the moment at the Parade and wants to stay for ANOTHER Parade or look to the future and run for the roses.

He is opting out from current contract 100%, no doubts.

If he renews it will be 1st July with the max contract Nuggets can offer him, 7.7M$. 120% increase from last contract due to no Bird rights. It makes no sense to accept 6.8M$ PO when he can get 7.7M$

Is Bruce coming back?? Place your bets!!

My bet: he is signing with Indiana 48M$x3. Nuggets sign Eric Gordon with TMLE

Eric Gordon was the name that has popped into my mind as a good replacement. Not as good on defense but better on offense and fits the combo guard role that Bruce played very well.

Apparently he is the Lakers priority FA target if Brook Lopez isn't available. I really hope that doesn't happen

Brown price before the playoff was already gone over $15M, of course, we would not catch it. No surprise that the final price was over 20M after a great PO.

Saw that he's gonna start for IND, guess that was part of the appeal for him
