Game 09 : San Antonio Spurs (5-4) @ Denver Nuggets (5-3)

Despite an almost identical W-L record so far this season, the Nuggets are bold favorites to beat the Spurs today. After all, these strange "lack of energy" problems we facing this season happens only in the road games, so no reason for Denver to not stay perfect at home after this game.

Always liked Devin Vassell coming into his draft class, finally coming into his own. Pop has this young team buying into his system but I'm surprised they are tanking trying to get that dominant big man. BtB should be a nice test but Joker should eat Poeltl for lunch and Murray should be able to continue his come-back season over Jones. Nuggets by 10+pts IMO

Murray and MPJ looking good, bench scoring looks strong with Hyland, although Braun struggling a bit. Surprised Poeltl is scoring on Jokic who usually takes him to task.

Less than 10 games, but already 3rd time this season Nuggets have 70+ points at halftime, more than most of the teams will have entire this season! 67%FG% is scary good. I like the rotation scheme this season where MPJ is a guy which carried the backup lineup when Jokic is on the bench instead of Murray from the past. We have 2 elite backup backcourt players in Brown and Hyland, so MPJ is the perfect solution, despite he will miss some extra minutes playing together with Joker.

That is a problem with Malone's "school teacher" attitudes toward Jokić personal fouls. Joker makes 1st foul in the first 10 seconds of the game, and he knows if he made 2nd Malone will automatically sit him down, so he didn't play defense, so after the first 15 minutes Poeltl scored 14pts and looked like an all-star before Jokic started to play defense.

Well, looks like Jokic doesn't care for those dreaded 3rd qtrs too, this time we've increased our lead a bit...keep rolling those Spurs
