Christian Braun

I just realize that our defensive specialist and 2022 1st round pick somehow still don't have his own thread here.

Braun plays for the contender team and for the coach which was never rookie-friendly, and especially because of his defensive potential, he is a much better player than the numbers of his opening first 100 days in NBA may suggest. For me, the worst thing about him so far is his low 60% FT%, but I guess it is just temporary because he was a 75%FT% shooter during his college career.

With Bones gone, Braun appears to be the recipient of some of his mins. CB has shown when he gets mins, he can be productive on the offensive end as well as provide exceptional defense. With more mins, I see him clearly making his way into the playoff rotation and perhaps even an eventual replacement for BB himself.

He is playing like a veteran.

If I may say one thing I like about CB is that he already shows improvements in his weaknesses. First couple of games I saw him I thought he really needs to work on finishing at the rim. Now he is going strong to the hoop, isn't afraid of being fouled. (ok he blew 2 on 1 fast break last game but overall he is much better as the season goes)

Definitely agree his game is developing. Still think he needs more confidence in his outside shooting, that's one of his shortcomings that I see, hope he works with MPJ or Murray or ?? to help him out. His form is pretty good, just needs some more confidence

It´s actually true and funny. Because when he shoots and misses I am thinking- he needs to work on his shooting in offseason. But he is 37% from three. That is not bad. So when he misses he looks like...awkward, like he cannot shoot when he actually can.

I get the sense that his shooting is a work in progress.

Ya know, I was thinking about it, if we can put about 25-30lbs of muscle on Christian and get him a consistent shooting range out to 3-pt range, we could have us a Kawhi 2.0

He is a good prospect with a lot of growth potential. Shooting is still a weakness, so far; although his form is good.

Already a SOLID defender, for a rookie his shooting pct's aren't bad, just looks like he needs more confidence, more practice and he'll be a solid stud shortly.

After 10 games in the 2024 season, it seems that Braun has fully inherited the starting shooting guard position. His averages have doubled so far and he looks like a candidate for the most improved player in the NBA.

With luck, we may have solved the loss of KCP and set up the starting rotation for the foreseeable future.
