Las Vegas Summer League

The 2023 Summer League begins on July 7th, just under 2 weeks away. There are some obvious players that are gonna be on the team starting with our last two drafts but it'll be fun to see what kinda talent this team will look like next season. I am particularly interested in seeing both Pickett and Tyson. I'd also like to see the French Center Israel Karmagate, feels like we could really use his size, even though he lacks NBA experience. I'd also bet some of our G-League Grand Rapids Gold players get an opportunity.
Here are some guesses on what the roster will look like, sure to change as we get closer to Summer League TC.
G/F Christian Braun 6'6" 220lbs
F/G Peyton Watson 6'7" 200lbs
PG Collin Gillispie 6'1" 200lbs
SF Jack White 6'7" 225lbs
PF Hunter Tyson 6'9" 215lbs
PG Jalen Pickett 6'2" 195lbs
G/F Julian Strawther 6'7" 205lbs
C Israel Karmagate 6'11" 230lbs
SG Armaan Franklin 6'4" 195lb
PF Giorgi Bezhanishvili 6'9" 245lbs
C Grant Golden 6'10" 255lbs

The roster so far via Clutchpoint.
Denver Nuggets
Christian Braun – Denver Nuggets [Pick No. 21 in 2022 NBA Draft]
Armaan Franklin – Virginia
Andrew Funk – Penn State
Grant Golden – Grand Rapids Gold (NBA G League)
Jalen Pickett – Penn State [Pick No. 32 in 2023 NBA Draft]
Julian Strawther – Gonzaga [Pick No. 29 in 2023 NBA Draft]
Hunter Tyson – Clemson [Pick No. 39 in 2023 NBA Draft]
Sure they'll be a few more additions but that's a good start

This is definitely the most I have looked forward to a summer league in a while, which is pretty crazy considering we just won the Finals. Cool that we have a lot of young guys that could potentially have a role on this team as early as this year.

Gotta assume the depth chart looks something like this:
Gillispie/Pickett
Braun/Strawther
Strawther/Watson/Tyson
Watson/Tyson/White
Kamagate

Ismael Kamagate will probably play in Italy next season anyway, so the only player really missing here (in terms that everybody wants to see his current level) is sophomore Peyton Watson. Personally, I would like to see Nnaji once again (Cancar is with Slovenia National Team this summer).

There is an updated list on line (that I can’t link to) that shows Watson listed and Braun not.

Looks like final roster for the SL is"
F/G Peyton Watson 6'7" 200lbs
PG Collin Gillispie 6'1" 200lbs
PF Hunter Tyson 6'9" 215lbs
PG Jalen Pickett 6'2" 195lbs
G/F Julian Strawther 6'7" 205lbs
C Israel Karmagate 6'11" 230lbs
SG Armaan Franklin 6'4" 195lb
C Grant Golden 6'10" 255lbs
F Andrew Funk 6'5" 200lbs
F Aamir Simms 6'8" 245lbs
SG Taz Sherman 6'4" 190lbs
G Mark Smith 6'4" 220lbs
G Cassius Stanley 6'5" 190lbs
One of the most consistent characteristic of this group....they can shoot the 3-ball, expect to see that in SL play !
The 3players I'm most interested so see ?? PWatson, Jalen Pickett and Israel Karmagate...all very much a part of the future of this team.

For me it is Strawther. Obviously Booth sees something there to make trades for this pick. Pickett and Karmagate are next.

For me, all three of this season's draft picks are interesting to be seen because of their late ages (Pickett and Tyson are even older than Nnaji), which makes much better their chances to be on Malone's radar.
Out of the "old boy - ready now" drafted in recent drafts around the #30 pick with a very notable rookie season I would mention Pacers 22y Andrew Nembhard (2022 #31), 23y Pells Herbert Jones (2021 #35), sensational 23y Desmond Bane (2020 #30), while Lakers currently 3rd best player Austin Reaves was even undrafted back in 2021 when he was 23y!
But of course, the biggest focus will be this SL on Payton Watson.
BTW Sky, you somehow misspelled the name of our French rookie
Ismael Kamagate.

Been reading my Bible recently, got confused …and what’s in a name until it gets on the back of the Jersey

Gillispie showing he can lead a team, PWatson is aggressive and displays a certain star-mentality. Strawther and Pickett have nice floaters going, showing we drafted well. Karmagate looks all the part of an NBA Center.

Gillispie needs to calm down his game, showing nerves this game.
Gotta say I'm liking Taco Falls game, saw him a couple of years ago, his game has really developed

Well mised opportunity, Defense really dropped off in the 2nd half, Beauchamp took advantage while our shooting really dropped up, some sloppy play as well.
