Russell Westbrook, former MVP and future HoF

Post#1 » by THE J0KER » Tue Aug 27, 2024 9:34 am

OK, we all know that at 35/36, he's no longer in his prime as a decade-long All-Star regular and that his triple-double style of play overlaps with Jokic's, but he was brought to Denver to pump with his energy, leadership, and tireless ambition/motivation where the Nuggets were most vulnerable: when Jokic is off the court, or/and when Murray is off the court. Also, his great hunger for a championship ring, the only achievement missing from his great career, will be useful to us in the playoffs.

And also, the good thing about this arrival is that it fights against the stigma of Denver as a "small market" that the big names shun. The only big NBA name of his format to come to Denver before him in this century was Allen Iverson.

The first question is whether he has the same level of intensity and can remain physically strong enough to play backup point guard at his age?

Second, can the Nuggets find enough shooters/scorers on the bench to provide him with assist opportunities?
Canned in Denver.

Westbrook's October numbers are 10-3-4 (TS%43%), while in November, he improved to 12-5-7 (TS%53%), which greatly impacted the Nuggets' results. In games where Westbrook scores 9+ pts Denver is 4-0, and the same 4-0 was the record in games where RW reached 6+ assists.
