Season with big expectations for Denver. In the opening week of the season Nuggets are the #2 favorites to take the 2026 title!

Interest season ahead, but we have filled our most desperate needs. Adding a solid C in Valanciunas, who could be starting for several NBA teams, two solid veterans in Brown and Hardaway gives us a much needed solid bench. Both Brown and Hardaway an give solid outside shooting (so can Val) while teaching and helping build our 3-5 youngster into NBA players. OKC is formidible, but we did take this team to within 1 game of beating the eventual NBA Champs, while hurt and with a subpar bench.

That opening OT loss in an epic game vs GSW is bitter and painful, but still, there are many positive things in the way the Nuggets opened this season.

Nikola Jokić recorded yet another triple-double with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. He has now recorded four triple-doubles in four games, tying a record set by Oscar Robertson and Russell Westbrook. Nikola has a chance to break that record on Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Gordon’s 50-point eruption lands him in exclusive territory. Only a handful of players have ever scored 50 or more in a season-opening game: Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Anthony Davis, and Kyrie Irving.

The Nuggets are the first team in NBA history to score 120 points or more and shoot at least 50 percent from the field in each of their first four games of a season.

5-2 is a good start to the season, although we should have won both of the two games we lost. What really concerns me, despite 7 games being arguably a small sample, Cameron Johnson has an awful start: MPJ so far has 3 games over 30 while CJ has only one over 10, while TS% and rebounding are also bad (unlike in the MPJ case).

At 9-2, we're off to one of our BEST starts to a season in recent memory. Jokic is already in MVP form, Jamal hasn't had another of his turtle-like starts and look like he's in the best shape of his career, at least since his rookie year. AG is the best front-court sidekick for the Joker. Cam and Christian have had the slow starts but are coming around but now this team is fighting injuries, something we haven't had to deal with alot in recent years. The remade bench has looked great, BB and THj are solidifying this crew and Big Val is the best backup C we've had (without any drama) since Cousins left.vWould not surprise me if we have our best regular season ever and can win the Finals again. Another thing that makes this so amazing it's under a 1st year head coach.
