Why isn't he playing and what is the general view of nugget fans about him?

George Karl cant stand J.R. Smith, thats why hes always on the bench, good scorer but very streaky.

it would make sense to trade him. karl hates him and he isn't using him. we could trade him for one or two solid bench players to make our bench even more deep.

there's no reason to have a talent like him on the bench and never use him. that clearly sucks

Why does Karl hate him?

he's mistake prone, and he apparently doesn't consistently put in enough out-of-practice work for karl's liking. (and he didn't go to karl's thanksgiving dinner...but that's another story)

apparently, gk's beef with JR is that JR "insults the dignity of the game"

yeah its such a shame that the coach is treating JR like crap. It's inexcusable for him to be sitting on the bench for the last two games straight. He should be getting at least 20 minutes a game. Hopefully karl will come to his senses soon especially since Atkins is playing like crap for the most part.

JR gets benched for only coming to practice 10 minutes early.

Karl's an idiot, he tried to use his defense as an excuse, but this year he's been one of our more willing defenders...Really their isnt an excuse not to play him, especially against the Timberwolves!?!?!

We really dont need AI and Melo playing 95% of the time to beat a team that has 4 wins. Karl is a horrible coach.

JR is still immature and makes stupid mistakes. He has been trying too hard lately to be a play maker....driving to the lane out of control with no plan and throwing the ball away for example. But I think thats a result of Karl pushing him to be more than a gunner.

Karl, for better or worse (well, worse, theres no question about that) prefers to play guys that play smarter and in more control.....like atkins. Atkins takes smart shots, he just misses most of them. Atkins doesnt toss the ball away (but doesnt create either). And he tries on defense, hes just horrid at it. Karl would prefer that over JR's dumb decision making and lack of effort.

Rumour has it that Augmon is working his way back into the rotation. He had a hand shake agreement with management that he would be signed as a "Development Coach", and that if players like Bobby Jones or JR Smith weren't performing, that he would be inserted back into the 12 man rotation.

Im just kidding.

Its odd that our offensive efficiency is 14th in the league, while our defense is 3rd in the league and yet Karl isn't trying to improve the offense when it is stale, in large part still to this teams lack of constant 3 point shooting. Hes been showing strong effort in defense in my opinion in game and has at least done as good of a job as atkins.

What do you see as his future? Will he fit in or will he be traded?

I think another team will sneak in and snag him from us during free agency while our front office is busy trying to get Boykins signed to a long term deal.

I honestly dont see JR in a Nuggets jerseys for very long, were not using him and his contract is coming up, we also need to fill some holes and JR is a very intiguing player for a lot of teams, like NJ, Phoenix, ATL and more.

Might as well get something for him, I still think JR would sign with us again, I'm just pretty sure our FO wouldnt give him a contract.

The FO loves him, thats not the problem. If they're able to sign him for cheap this summer, which is what its looking like for JR right now, then im sure they would. Who gives a **** if Karl doesn't like him, hes not going to be here forever.

It would be nice if he got a few minutes a game but I guess he's not worth the risk to GK or any other coach he has had. I don't see him as the key to us getting out of the first round, the key to that is a healthy and productive Camby-Martin-Nene.

Yeah, because they hit 3's when teams pack it in the paint on defense against us. We should know what we're gonna get out of those 3, defense, rebounding, and some low post scoring hopefully from Nene, but teams can just double off the guys we have in there now shooting. AC is a streaky midrange shooter at best, Chucky is garbage, AI is a streaky shooter from the outside that would rather pound the ball. So I guess Kleiza and the flattest jumper known to man-kind is the answer?

So in the playoffs JR is gonna be the answer???
