Nice of Iverson to support his community, I give him mad props for that.....
However, his attitude regarding guns exemplifies the problem with this country, and the media hype surrounding guns. Guns don't kill people.....the person BEHIND the gun does. Look up the national statistics, in EVERY state that has enacted a carry concealed law, the violent crime rates have dropped.
Best example I have is that you NEVER see gun stores get robbed while someone is working.....why? Cause they would shoot back. Robbers, burglars, criminals ain't as dumb as you think. They aren't going to risk their lives for a couple hundred bucks if they know you could be armed.
Guns ain't the real problem. People who think banning guns will stop the street violence contribute to the problem. Let's start raising kids to understand and RESPECT their power, and pass more stringent laws as to what happens when you USE a gun the wrong way. That will help more than "project buy back".
Thoughts?
