He showed up late to practice the other day.

Karl wants to wait til Eddie's arm falls off before playing our only 7 footer.

Karl is showing up late for the playoffs by running the team core too much?
Stephen Hunter, please show up to practice 2 hours early.

Karl, the douche bag. A player shows up late for practice, so he punishes the whole team. Could have played him tonight a little, or was he late again?
This man wants to ruin the team.

Apparently he will start playing him. We'll see.

He's been out for a long time. Just because the injury is healed doesn't necessarily mean he's ready to play, 7 footer or not. It takes a little time to get back in the flow.

Karl had no problems with throwing Atkins out there right away.

They're different players, so that doesn't matter. Maybe Atkins was more ready to go. In any event, his job is to shoot 3's. Hunter's job demands a lot more on both ends of the floor.

Maybe Atkins decided to show up to practice on time? Just a thought.

I think with Atkins it was a pressure thing. New team, unproven on this team for what he was brought for - reputation for shooting well preceding him. You never throw him in there - time runs out and playoffs are here anyway.
You would think the FO would bring in or keep another point guard just so all this time wasn't wasted. Atkins can have time to heal up, but if it's as Karl said it was imperative to have a pg that can space the floor that business would go on as usual and someone else would get that chance.
AC got that chance. AC/Atkins was the plan, why not AC/some other pg.
JR gets the minutes though, so at least there's an opening there.

Anyone who watched Atkins play, knows he was not ready to go, and he failed at his job of hitting threes.

No one is claiming to start Hunter or play him a lot. Just give some of the front courts a little more rest. That isn't rewarding Hunter.

I'm talking about understanding the flow of the game, where to be, his role, etc.
Anyway, again what happened with Chucky has no bearing on Hunter's situation.

You are right there, Karl plays favorites and doesn't treat his players the same.

Only way Hunter can get some minutes is if Camby gets into foul trouble early and Martin is still out. Otherwise he'll only get playing time during a blowout, if he ain't late to practice...

Eddie's other arm has to fall off too.

Playing Hunter who is a good shot blocker minutes makes to much sense to Karl. He would rather play small undersize player who can not help this team.

it's funny that gk started jelani mccoy and won't play hunter except in garbage time. I know it was different circumstances, but it's still really funny to me.
