Is he a fast healer? Does anyone have an estimate or guess on when he will be back?

he said he was having trouble putting his sock on last night, but id say hes probably back by this weekend at the latest, id say he mite take the ATL game off, and then be back for the NJ or dallas game, and btw is it just me or does it seem like the team the nuggets will probably meet in the playoffs in the 1st round is the lakers, i mean they seem pretty evenly matched and stuff and if the nuggets didn't have so many injuries theyd be right at the top of the conference, but idk thats just me tho.

Melo much like AI is a soldier. he should be back very soon unless it is an extremely bad sprain. whenever you see Melo grimacing during the game (ie. the last 4 or 5 in a row) he is playing with some sort of injury. there was a quote a little while back from him in the newspaper where he basically said that the only way he doesn't play is if he's dead.

If he misses any games hopefully it's one or two and hopefully it wont effect his game too much.

He seems to hurt his ankle every season. Usually doesn't cause a problem.

that looked a lot worse then his previous Ankle injuries though, a high ankle sprain can hold you back for WEEKS, lets hope it heels, Kobe pullin a Bruce Bowen out there..

Rest Melo against the hawks. He's been injured and rest would do him good.

Melo's generally resilient. Just look at all the time he's put in and he bounces back for every game.

Not saying that a bad injury wouldn't sideline him....just that he's probably made of the same stuff Iverson is.

Yea, Melo really is tough. Of course if he had a bad injury he would be out, but he most definitely plays through pain like Iverson. He doesn't get much respect for it tho since a lot of haters consider him a wimp.

Both games played at LA he hurt that ankle the first time he was pushed down on a moving screen by Vlad Rad. The second he landed on Kobe's foot.

DENVER -- Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony is doubtful for Denver's game against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night due to a sprained left ankle.

Anthony suffered the injury in the second quarter against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night after he came down on Kobe Bryant's right foot. The Nuggets said X-rays taken after the game were negative.

Anthony, who hasn't missed a game this season, had minimal swelling Tuesday and some discomfort in the ankle.

The 23-year-old forward had 13 points and four rebounds before landing on Bryant's foot after making a jumper with 5:58 remaining before halftime. Anthony fell to the floor and grabbed his ankle in pain. He had to be helped off the court.

Anthony missed five games with a sprained left ankle -- and another game with a sprained right ankle -- during the 2004-05 season.

Anthony is the NBA's fourth-leading scorer, averaging 25.5 points a game.

I'm sure its just a minor tweak, he should be back in a week or 2 in full health...for right now Iverson needs to step up and take over the scoring duty, with Kleiza putting in 15+ every game.Melo had same thing happen ot him 2 years ago, he came back in a week.

apparently Melo told the press he will not play tomorrow.

I hope it trickles down. AI can take the lead, Kleiza can get a bunch, and JR should at least get a window to play defense. Camby can score.....but I just hate seeing him carry the ball to the rim like an arcade toy crane and miss the toy.

lol....do people really think Kobe did that on purpose? Am I the only one who noticed that when the timeout was called Kobe went over to Melo while he was lying down and talked to him to see if he was ok?

I don't personally think he did it on purpose. I also don't think he moved his feet out of the way on purpose - one of those "know where your body is" responsibilities the refs have been talking about lately.

If Kobe wanted to do that I doubt we'd be able to detect it. Whatever he does on the court is very subtle and of course he's looking like he's watching the ball to the rim for the rebound, but there's his foot.

Then again any shooter can also be more careful about coming down if the defender hasn't moved very far. I don't think he did it on purpose.
