I love him, but he's on his way out, especially after his miscommunication with the rim.

I like the fact he got to the rim, but that says a lot when he fails once in completing the dunk because of getting too fancy and then he doesn't even adjust to make sure the ball goes through the rim on the second chance.

That's not the "angry" I think we're looking for.

Even if we have to step down a notch, it's not the "selfish" we're looking for either.

I don't know if he'll make it around the learning curve before the Nuggets make it to the playoff curve.

I didn't see the game, but he took 7 shots in 10 minutes, going 1 for 7.

There was a play where the Nuggets had a 2 on 1 break with Iverson and JR and Smith had an easy dunk at the rim and instead tried a reverse dunk and missed. The Grizzlies came down and scored. After the inbounds, Smith got the ball running full speed and tried to a two hand dunk but, took off too early and missed again. The Grizzlies came down and hit a 3pointer. So instead of the Nuggets getting 4 points, the Grizzles scored 5 (9 pt swing).

As soon as it happened I figured that was the end of the night for Smith and he didn't return. Welcome to the doghouse.

He returned after that...a couple times actually, I believe.

I didn't see him at all. Soon as the Nuggets called timeout, I saw Carter was back in and after that all I saw was Diawara getting more time. But I may have missed him on the court.

he came back in for the final seconds of the half, but i didnt see him in the second half. when he missed that, all i could think was he's done. its a bummer.

I'm sure he'll still get 5 mins playing time after game vs Grizz, but it will be around the end of the second half, thats when GK usually puts in Diawara and JR (while Melo has been out).

GK internalized it when asked about the blown dunks, and just said Yak was the better defensive option.

It's probably embarrassing enough for JR to miss those two dunks....but the aggression to get to the rim was not such a bad thing. The frustrating part is just JR not finishing. For instance, Melo's pretty good at this point at adjusting a little on a dunk attempt and scrapping the dunk just to get the ball through the net.

JR definitely has the athleticism to make those adjustments mid-air....he just needs to leave a little room open to make those adjustments.
