looks like earl will finally find a team this season. obviously it was a huge financial mistake opting out of the final year of his contract with milwaukee. I don't know why it has taken a team so long to sign him though. sure, he is a huge defensive liability, but he has those games where he just takes over on offense some times and there is no way to stop him and he almost wins the game for you single-handedly. I think there are plenty of teams that would benefit from his presence on a roster, namely teams that are struggling like milwaukee, minnesota, seattle and even miami. I've always enjoyed watching him play and hope he does well for charlotte.

He'll be a solid back-up to Felton, but I doubt he'll get the numbers he did with Nuggets.

Yeah I like Earl Boykins. What do you guys think of his game? Is he only a scorer or can he set others up as well?

This may top Jordan's decision to draft Kwame as the worst move in his front office career.
Although I'm glad that we now have a guaranteed win on Saturday(if he actually plays).

dribbles the hell out of the ball till there's about 5secs left on the shot clock then jack's up a horrendous shot. Obviously a huge liability on defense. has a decent assist every now and then. I think because he is starting on a new team he will look to pass a bit at first but then you'll see why we're all hapy he's gone.

I thought they moved Felton to SG because he did not look to pass enough, just wait until they see Boykins in action.

One of his first games of the year will be at the can, how ironic is that?

you would think so, but remember how he burned us last season with the bucks and we almost lost that game because of him. he was 10-15, 6-7 from beyond the arc for 26 points.

A lot of people are always down on Boykins, but personally I liked the guy. Now before everyone freaks out about that statement, let me just explain my reasoning:
Karl completely mishandled and misused Earl, its really that simple. GK turned a GREAT sparkplug off the bench, who needed to be put on a short leash, into a 25-30 mpg 5'5 SG with no limits to what he was allowed to do. I truly believe, that if Boykins was kept as a instant offense, 10-15 mpg bench player, that he would be an asset to a large percentage of teams. The key is to not overuse him, and to yank him if he goes overboard or makes too many bad decisions.
I truly believe, that Boykins ineffectiveness in his Nuggets career, was more the doing of Karl's misuse, then Boykins inability to help a team.

My thoughts exactly, especially because Ive always looked at Felton as nothing but a passing point guard.

Any idea if he's gonna get dressed up for the game on Saturday? Since he just signed yesterday, its possible he's getting a physica today and flying out with the team here...I don't think he'll get many minutes though, as he is yet to have a single practice with 'Cats and doesn't know their plays well...
