The big T. Green trade....

Well we got T. Green from Portland for Von Wafer. He's a rookie pg 6'0" 170ish from florida. Looked for a highlight video on youtube but didn't find anything. Not sure what the point of this deal is.
Word on the street is that Nene will be back this season. He is undergoing Chemo next week and it is supposed to have a short recovery attached to it. With Chucky also back on the court I guess the front office felt that getting healthy was better than making a big trade. I tend to agree with them. Nice to know all the rumors are done flying.

Is there any room on the Denver bandwagon? Because if Pritchard does another move like this I'm hopping off the Portland-Train.

I'm glad we did this trade. Gives us a young PG to build a team that already has a young core in Nene/Melo/JR/Kleiza
Don't know a ton about him, but it makes more sense for the future than Wafer did.....also, he can spell AC until Chucky comes back..

exactly... green has a much brighter future than wafer, even though i love von. he was the starting point guard on the back to back ncaa champions, that says a lot about him. even though he's another undersized guard at least he can run the point.

Garbage for garbage. This trade was nothing more than a money move. We have no use for this kid.

You say that now, but I guarantee you'll change your mind in 2-3 weeks.

Green is more valuable to us than Wafer was......
Please, enlighten me as to how this saves us money?
And if Portland didn't have a logjam at the PG position, they would never have considered this trade....

He was a good PG for Florida but I never thought he was NBA ready. He plays good D so I guess practice will be fun for him haha

So much hype...and this crap? Yay we get some guy who's gonna polish the bench for the remaining 4 months and then its good bye...

I'd rather we keep our core, and get healthy. Adding a nice young PG with POTENTIAL is not a bad move....

Here are his stats at florida last year...
33.2 min, 13.3 pts, 2.4 reb, 3.7 ast, 2.7 to, .444 fg, .849 ft, .404 3pg
the year before his numbers were about the same, he averaged 1 more assist though...
Here is some scouting info
Comparisons:
Best Case: Jameer Nelson
Worst Case: Chucky Atkins...(lol)
Besides Demetris Nichols, no other player in Orlando will have an easier transition to the NBA 3-point line than Taurean Green. His shooting mechanics aren

Well we traded a guy who is making 800k for a guy who is making 400k. (numbers rounded.)

in the big picture, how does this trade really hurt us?
We've got max contracts with AI, Kmart, Melo. We have close to max contracts with Camby and Nene. I'm unsure how this hurts us in any way, considering Green can shoot the 3, has experience in big games, can hit the 12-15 ft shots, and has some handles.......
win win, if you ask me. cheaper price, better talent, and A/C ain't the answer at PG for us.....neither is chucky. Maybe green isn't either, but at least he's young enough and has some skills.....

It's not a bad move, but its a pointless move, he won't influence this team a lot and will ride the bench most likely.

win win, if you ask me. Even for 400k more per year.....
Actually it's for 800k less. Vons contract was 800k equaling 1.6 mil since we are over the cap and Green will cost the nuggets only 800k. U are right though, the nuggets have the second highest payroll so saving a little money and not hurting the team is always a good thing.

Green can be a serviceable back up for the Nuggets. He reminds of Kyle Lowry, he's a really gritty guard who can play D.

I like what I hear about him but he is only 6 feet tall, but maybe he can steal some of Carter's minutes.

This trade doesnt hurt us and it doesnt help us. Im sick of having midgets playing alongside Ai. West was there (and restricted), they sit on their arse. Artest was there, they sit on their arse. I look forward to atkins being our saviour
