Nuggets PR working well

Denver Post: After the trade deadline, some players were relieved, others were peeved. Anthony had said the past two weeks he wanted Artest because other Western Conference powers had added star players.

Leaving the building, he whisked past reporters and huffed: "I have nothing to say right now."

To me that doesn't sound like a star player happy that his team didn't make a move and it doesn't sound like he and AI where there together in team solidarity asking them not to make a trade.

I hope someone tells Melo he's suppose to be happy about a deal not happening. That he stood up to keep his teammates and wanted to keep them all here.

Nice Job Stratt, good PR work

Oh come on now, what you quoted is totally crap. It doesn't say why he was upset, does it? No. It tries to imply he was upset that the team didn't get Artest, but there is nothing showing that to be true.

And did he "huff" as the reporter claims?

The media is trash. They like trying to make a story out of nothing. Don't believe everything you read.

Not that I'm saying he wasn't upset the team didn't get Artest. He could have been upset Wafer was traded as Stratt said. But the point is, you don't know from this quote.

Yeah...sometimes the media is trash... but in this instance, they weren't digging for anything, just stating how he left. Sure he could have been mad for them trading away Von Wafer, but Melo was on the record of wanting Artest...

So you say that a beat writer has less credibility that someone inside the Nuggets that wants everyone to think that no trade was a good thing? He works with the FO...of course he wants us to think all this "good feelings" stuff... Come on...not even a little "FISHY" to you???

I am not upset that a trade didn't happen... but for Stratt to make it seem like everyone was standing up and not wanting a trade, just seems a little far fetched to me.

Lol at you tryna spin your own bs. Carmelo first said, at the a.s. break, to ask him how he feel about the team after the deadline. Deadline comes and he has nothing to say. Now wiretap say he's upset. I called it b4 this came out and called Eric story bs. But no, you all jumped on me saying "I believe an insider b4 the media", well there go Carmelo words. He obviously didn't say "DON`T TRADE ANYBODY", that was seriously the dumbest stuff I ever heard.

But you can tell by the wiretap, which quotes him.

Carmelo Anthony is surprised that the Nuggets failed to make any moves before Thursday's trade deadline but has confidence in his teammates, according to The Rocky Mountain News.

"It's over with now. It is what it is," Anthony told the News. "We had a chance to get a player, but as an organization, we felt like we ain't really need to make no moves. We don't have no choice but to support that decision and make the best out of it."

"Any time you can get better - or you think you can get better - there's going to be disappointment. This is a team right here I'm proud of. I like the team. I like the direction we're going," he added

Got that sportsmike...He is Happy just disappointed so take that shyt somewhere else.

Is he gonna go "I hate my team"? He said that he wanted Artest and didn't get him. Is he suppose to throw the team under the bus?

Thats all we needed to know. Sure, he may be disappointed we didn't make a move for Artest (thank god we didn't) but he pretty much is saying that he still likes the direction we are headed in. Meaning, pretty much it is not a HUGE deal, just a minor disappointment.

I dont think Melo will bash the team to much. I told you guys it sounded like bull about him and Iverson driving to the war room begging not to make a trade. Some of you think Artest would not help us? Come on get real we have a first round team.

I actually think Artest would jeopardize our chances of making the playoffs. It is hard to integrate a loose canon, defensive specialist into a free-flowing offensive system unlike he has ever played in, in a matter of 10-15 practices.

The amount of time we spend trying to incorporate him, could cost us games, we NEED to even make the playoffs.

Not to mention how he is a team cancer, a loose canon, and likely would only be a half-season rental.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH Boy....I got told.

I am sure there is alot of truth to what Melo said... but if you truly believe that he is 100% happy about not making a deal....I think you're nuts!!! No not disappointed in ...awww shucks... I think he's upset about it... He is smart and didn't throw his teammates under the bus, but I think he would have had a much different reaction if Artest would have been acquired.

Again... I don't care about the trade, I am just saying Stratt was feeding us a line of BS....It was Nuggets PR spin... feel free to believe what you want to... I know all that Melo and AI coming and and saying they are good with the team we have to the war room...was all spin...

He has always played hard no matter the issue

I never said he didn't. I just said that he is a loose canon, a questionable fit, hard to integrate, and likely a half-season rental. I never questioned his work ethic.

How is he hard to integrate? Wtf are you talking about?

Artest is a great defender I would much rather have him on this team then Carter starting. If we had Artest he could play the two with Jr backing him up while Carter play spot minutes at the point. I guess Denver enjoyed wasting money and not going forward trying to get this team to contend. I am sorry Artest=Klieza and Eddy combined. I think this stupid team probably could have gotten Artest without giving up Klieza they could have did a threeway deal using Nene who hasnt done **** his entire career but have a decent few games against the Spurs and sit out alot being overpaid.

Well, considering Karl only plans on having about 10-15 more practices where the game plan will be adjusted, and considering Artest has never played in a free-flowing offense with no plays, and considering Artest is known to pound the ball and jack up shots like a taller AI when the offense breaks down, and considering moving Artest into the starting lineup would either move AI to PG or Melo to PF and cause rotation problems, and considering he may be a franchise killer who would probably not get along with Karl, I would consider him to be somewhat hard to integrate.

But thats just me.
