if you had to say yes or no...?
I'd say no. He probably goes to atlanta or something.

if FO keeps george....no
if FO fires karl, i think they'll match an offer on smith if its not too high.

No one will offer him ****, so I would guess we will match any **** offer he gets.

That is pretty much the answer right there.

JR Will definately be a Denver Nugget next year when GK gets fired, it seems like he really enjoys playing for the Nuggets (aside from GK)

Id say if we miss the playoffs or have a **** showing again, they'd have no more excuses for keeping him around another year.

Denver holds all the cards. Only two teams can offer him more than the MLE, and neither will. Getting him for 4-5 million will be a bargain and the FO should look to lock him up long term at that price.

I think he will remain a nuggets if karl isn't the coach anymore.

Dude's got a proving ground the next 20 games. He can change his fate by helping change the fate of this team. That's not a bad position to be in, unless he fails.

JR will be back. Take it to the bank.

That's good to hear. From the past, it sounds like the FO is far more invested in this kid than George Karl is, as they haven't been happy to hear him ridicule JR publicly.

I can't imagine JR commanding a high salary elsewhere, and losing our best three point shooting threat on an otherwise less than stellar three point shooting team seems a little dumb. Not to mention, he adds athleticism and energy, even if sometimes his head takes a night off. I would guess at least Melo, perhaps AI also, wants him back, and is willing to talk both sides into it.

Does JR like it here, George Karl's PT inconsistency notwithstanding?

He has been playing very well in the last 5 or 6 games on both ends of the floor.

It's starting to click for him, he just needs to play defense with that chip on his shoulder mentality and continue to just play within himself on offense.

He can be had for cheap. So why wouldn't the FO be inclined to
bring him back. The front office should put it out there publicly that
they intend to match.

They will get him for a bargain. Other teams maybe hesitant about J.R.
so the only way JR can drive up stronger demand for his services is to
play great down the stretch and into the playoffs.
