Key Matchup:

Martin allowed Duncan to catch too easily in the last game, which subsequently put him into foul trouble. Will need to do a better job fronting, denying and playing Duncan straight up without picking up fouls.

Last Meeting: March 7th, 2008
109-96 Denver victory
Anthony & Iverson combined for 54 points
Najera dropped in a career high 19
San Antonio took an 8 point lead into halftime but Denver closed it quickly to start the 3rd quarter and kept that energy going through the remainder of the game.

Denver: 37-25
Rank 11th in offense and 5th in defense
Have lost 5 of past 6 road games
Second meeting against San Antonio in 4 nights
Nene is recovering from a single session of chemotherapy. He's already started working out at the pepsi center and should return in a couple more weeks.
Linas Kleiza has struggled with an ankle/foot strain in the past few weeks but will play.

Keys to winning:
Maintaining a consistent sense of urgency to get into the playoffs and win the division.
Making the extra pass on a consistent basis.
Defending the pick and roll and making quick rotations out of it.

Last 5 Games:
L Utah
W San Antonio
W Phoenix
L Houston
W LA Clippers

San Antonio: 43-19
Rank 12th in offense and 3rd in defense

I think we lose this game by 30. We are good at home and suck on the road, and this is a road game.

We have 9 remaining home games and 11 on the road. We win about 1/3 of our road games, so figure we will take about 3 more on the road. We do a great job defending the home court, so say we go 7-2 at home the rest of the way. That would equate to 10 more wins, about .500 the rest of the way, and IMO it puts us short of the 8th spot.

How important were those losses against Memphis, Charlotte, Indy, NY, LAC, Chicago, hell all of those games we should have had wins in, how important are those games right about now?

the good thing about yesterdays game is, that chucky had the chance to get comfortable again. should be good because he'll take the shots against the spurs with more confidence

Spurs play tonight against the Suns hopefully the Suns give them a run for their money, and we get a tired Spurs team. I think this game is very winnable. We always get up for the Spurs, and I think the team will be upset over how they played in Utah.

Like I said in Utah's game thread, this team is inconsistent... Win 2, Lose 2. So tomorrows game is a loss, but look past it, we can win 3 in a row cuz we're at home against Memphis, Raps and Seattle!

U know we play to the level of our competition, those games are far from locks.

Better hope the Spurs win today. No way in hell they lose 3 games in a row. Especially with the third one at home.

Part of the reason the Nuggets are a bad road team is because a lot of the players need confidence offensively (Carter, Kleiza especially, Martin, Camby). It's easier to get confidence, get a flow, in a friendly environment (home). When at least 2 of those guys don't show up, it's difficult to win.

we'd be a .500 team if we did that.

Why not 4 in a row? SA, Memphis, Raps and Seattle

That would balance things out.

I agree with that it's like a house of cards, they just collapse. They don't all have to be superstars, but they have to show up and put down their best effort.

touche.

but then again, the third game wasn't at home. :P

Denver has a chance, but they better hope Karl makes timely rotations and the players are hitting their outside shots.

I don't know why people think we can win this
we won because we were at home and the bench stepped up
los spurs =) are a great home team with a 26-5 home record and they will probably be pissed and poised for revenge. with that said I hope we can sneak up and steal this one and eliminate home court. (sorry thought of last years playoffs)
after this we have an"easy" schedule so let's gain some momentum in SA

U kno wat i been noticing lately...Karl makes the same substitutions at the same time everygame, no matter if the player is hot or not..Last night against the Jazz, AI scored a couple baskets in a row, and Karl took him out with 4 mintues left in the half to put melo in..Y not jus let him play out the half and put melo in for someone else...Plus, tht super small lineup with Najera at center and JR at SF doesnt really work tht well IMO
